That is why so many this summer said Mustang is not the favorite anymore in Oklahoma.

The rumor was he was going to play for the Storm but he went to Texas and the guard left for the Home school team.

NN will be tough. They are stacked. Union will be really good.

Mustang might only win state by 20...jk

Mustang lost their rim protector. People will attack Long again when he plays defense.

Union has everyone back and Norman North did a good job recruiting over a post man through Waters. Those two should win and if Norman North doesnt win that coach will be looked at very poorly. Hasn't made state yet with 3 D1 guys and now a 4th.

Austin's dad got a job in Texas, was leaving Mustang anyway due to a situation in summer ball where he got screwed over.

Meh...a good number of Mustang's games were won with him on the bench in foul trouble. He's a really good player, but I wouldn't call him a great rim protector yet. I definitely think it will affect the style of defense they play, but they will be really good again.

Without Meyers the way the two coaches kids play defense there will be a lot of layups against them. Has Mustang revealed their recruiting class for this year yet? Sounds like Noman North out recruited them this year.

Long's a really good high school defender...not sure what you're watching.

I heard rumor of a 6'10" kid

I checked on "the guard" you were talking about. Unless you're talking about Isaiah (he actually graduated, but is going to some homeschool prep academy), I couldn't find anything.

I think they will be good but they won't be a favorite to win it.

The other guard this summer was going to Storm but I can't remember his name. He may have changed his mind though.

Hammons going to play his 5th year of high school with the storm.

Common scouting report on Long is that he was the worst defender on the team besides the shooter. He doesn't move his feet well and gets in trouble if his man can attack off the dribble.

Then they never watched Meyer defend...unless they are just talking about guards. Meyer has loads of potential and is extremely athletic for his size. He improved greatly over the past 3 years, but anyone who watched him play very much knows he doesn't have natural defensive skills. Leaves his feet way to much and is a little slow to help off on penetration. That's why I question your coaching buddies analysis of Long. I tend to believe they probably have a beef with Terry and that sways their opinion...but maybe not.

I must've watched the wrong game. I saw NN and Mustang play in regionals last year and Long shut Trae Young down. Wouldn't let him even catch the ball and when Yound did he couldn't get any space.

They'll be one of about 3 or 4 teams that could win it just like last year. Who'd have thought PCW would get upset? If Kejuan Frazier isn't the guard you heard was transferring, they COULD be a little better. They will be a little thinner, but they have a replacement for just about everyone who left besides Meyer and, as I said, there's rumor of a 6'10" transfer.

He just got lucky... ;)

I don't know coach Long at all...I've only ever said, nice game coach in passing. I can see other coaches not liking him due to his connection with Athlete's First, but it's pretty telling to hear many of them imply he can't coach, his kid can't play, etc. All I know about him is his kids go to class, are respectful and stay out of trouble. I've been around Mustang for a long time and was skeptical at first, but not anymore. Makes me wish my son hadn't quit hoops back in middle school if for no other reason than to get the work ethic coach Long demands.
