Caleb Huffman a 6-3 PG who plays for Athlete's First and is a really explosive athlete - very fast and with big vertical - was offered by Tulsa yesterday. Appears Texas Tech is interested, which has some family connection as his dad played for Tubby at Tulsa. He is also been shown interest from Arkansas and others.

I've watched him for several years and he has the potential to be a high D1 recruit, if he is not one already, and he is only a sophomore. Somebody to watch. I think he would excel on an up-tempo team - he is very fast.

I am sure LK and the boys know about him, but he is one to watch over the next couple of years.

Crazy comparison at this point would be a less crafty, but more athletic Terrell Everett. Similar build and ability to get to the rim.

His dad was a really good HS player at BA. He was an undersized but athletic big.

He plays AAU for his dad. My guess is he will play with pwp and Rod Thompson. He has a chance to be really good.

The 2018 class has as many as 8 to 10 D1 players in it. There will be some big news coming out soon in regards to PWP and the best 2018 teem from Oklahoma this past summer impact athletics.

I heard PWP is falling apart now that Mayberry left the state.

I wouldn't say falling apart, I would say through this announcement that will come out soon evolving into something special. This will be a great thing for the kids of Oklahoma who have the talent and avenue to a college education.

Better than A1 a few years ago?

Oklahoma needs ONE (1) AAU organization for all of its top talent imo preferably sponsored by Nike.

When there is only one big time team it makes it hard on some kids. One of the main reasons guys like Shake and others have not played for A1 is the amount of travel that is demanded of them for practice. I know of one kid this summer that had to stay with someone in OKC for two straight weeks because they couldn't afford to drive down and back every or have the time to do so.

It is too bad that Oklahoma doesn't have the talent to have a big time team in Tulsa and OKC, just doesn't though. For many years the Hawks in Tulsa were the best team because of the talent in that area was better by numbers. However it is completely opposite now in my opinion with most of the top tier talent being in the OKC area.

Didn't Lee leave to be a coach somewhere?

Why is Nike's EYBL preferred? Just curious. I know Under Armour has a circuit (Kameron McGusty was the 8th leading scorer on that circuit this summer). Adidas has one, too.

Why is Nike preferred?

The reason Shake didn't play for A1 had nothing to do with Travel. He went to KC which is obviously a lot farther for him than OKC would have been.

Trae Young played in Texas two years ago and in KC (Mokan) last summer. Had Oklahoma had a program that Trae & Shake grew up in maybe they would have stayed in Oklahoma to play their AAU basketball. As stated above, OKC does have the bulk of the talent right now and the Tulsa kids have to travel due to A1 and Wizards being based in OKC. A1 & Wizards have never supported the younger kids programs and developed them through a strong youth program. Indiana Elite, Mac Irvin Fire, Team Penny and on-and-on do have these types of youth development programs. The result is the majority of their kids do stay home to play, there will always be a kid here and there that will leave, but its the exception and not the norm.

The EYBL is the top circuit right now, mainly because they have been doing it longer, but UA is spending a lot more money to create a viable alternative. The UA circuit is as strong and has a plan to become the best soon. Adidas trails by a distance from the other two.

Not as complicated as some of you are making it. Last 4 years, no one wanted to play with Allonzo Trier because of the volume of shots he took. Trae played with A1 on two occasions. Once with Terry Long, where he was cut and once with the 2017 group where it just didn't work out.

Ok. I must have heard bad information. I was told he didn't have to go practice with Mokan. That was told to me by guys on the team with him and also left. They also thought the A1 program favored the OkC kids.

It is what it is. I am probably wrong just communicating what I was told by the guys.
