Bedlam part III

Right now, I'm more or less "indifferent". The only other years I felt the same were 1993 (didn't make it) and 1996 (made it). In the case of 1996, we played exactly as I expected (blowout loss as a #10 seed). Even if we make it, I see a similar outcome as in 1996.

Fire the Administrator while we are at it. An Administrator should not be “indifferent” about the subject of the board. No I don’t want to be the Administrator and yes I am disappointed with the season. I cannot be indifferent about OU hoops.

I grew up a faculty brat, graduated with two degrees from OU, taught here, and am watching my grand niece graduate from OU. Five other family members in the interim earned degrees from OU.

I watched Alvin and Don, and Gar, and father and son Eddie and Terry, and Wayman, and Mookie, and Edwardo, and Choo, and Bo, and so many more come and go. Sooner born and Sooner bred, most of them will be disappointed too, but not indifferent.

Yes. Let's meet back here Sunday at 5 and we'll know who was right. I know many of you will be disappointed when we make it.

I'll be disappointed if we make it, honestly. I never wanna see this group play another game.

Yes I'm with you....we will make it. But the question is will you feel righteously indignant after we get our ass kicked one more time this season?

If we make it it will be a bigger embarrassment than if we don’t get in. Knowing we don’t deserve to be in and the impending ass kicking is more than any of us should have to endure...especially after February/March.

You don't have to endure any of it. You're not a player and they don't play for you. It's so narcissistic to think that this team owes you anything. There's no reason at all for you to be embarrassed by the way the team is playing. They should be embarrassed maybe, but not because they let you down.

Understand, this is not about you. You show up here after not being around during the winning streak and, after a disappointing loss, comment on every thread about how awful they are and how they embarrassed you as if this involves you at all.

Don't want to watch them? Don't watch. They're my favorite team so, as a fan, I hope they make it (and feel confident they will). If they lose that game, I'll be disappointed but I'll also have a little perspective in understanding that this is not about me. So, if you don't want to endure the ass kicking you're sure is coming, don't endure it. Don't watch. It's that easy.

If OU makes the dance the NCAA needs to replace the selection committee for failing to do their job.

Agree

I’d rather save the bad pub that would go along with making it

Blow the thing up. Bring new blood in here

Bad publicity that goes along with making the NCAA tournament....

:ez-roll:

(Just an FYI...bad publicity comes with NOT making the NCAA tournament. Ask Syracuse or Louisville, whoever it happens to this year.)

Even OU’s measured and venerated coach seemed to agree. As first-year OSU coach Mike Boynton shed his blazer and his Cowboys danced their way into timeout huddles, OU’s Lon Kruger spent much of Wednesday pacing the sideline tensely. He adjusted his glasses and clapped his hands and trusted in the level-headed approach that has helped him win more than 600 college basketball games.

But this time, this season, Kruger’s track record hasn’t seemed to matter. At his postgame press conference, Kruger was asked about his team’s “fight,” about where that intensity has gone, about how to manage such an intangible in March.

“We’ve got to improve,” Kruger said. “Clearly rebounding is about competing and fighting, and yeah, we’re not pleased with the job there at all.”
