G Kendall Smith (12.9 PPG, 3.0 APG)
Smith has been Oklahoma State’s closer and its big-shot maker. Wednesday will be the largest stage the graduate transfer has played on in his career.
So far, big stages have meant big games. He scored 25 and 24 points in the two wins over Kansas and 20 in the wins over Oklahoma and West Virginia.
He certainly does not need to match Young shot for shot, but OSU really needs a composed, efficient game from its point guard.
Another stat to know: Oklahoma State was 6-1 in Big 12 games when Smith scored at least 20 points. That means the Cowboys were 2-9 when he was held below 20.
