Rick Barnes? Are you ****ing kidding me? No way. Kruger is far more deserving and is a far better coach that Barnes. What a joke.

Where did you get that Barnes won COY honors? I didn't know the voting has already taken place. If you're simply saying that Kruger is far more deserving than Barnes, I agree 100%!

Announced today!! Hield 2nd team and Clark 3rd team all big 12.

Unbelievable!!! I don't have a problem with Hield and Clark making 2nd and 3rd team respectively. But Barnes being named the COY over Kruger is downright shameful!

i hate this damn conference. Let's get KU and go to the Big Ten in all sports. Screw the rest of these guys.

Yeah I agree. Shame on the voters.

I wish there was something, we as fans, could do..Coach Kruger swept Texas this year and finished ahead of them.....This is a joke....

If they announced it today, voting must have occurred before yesterday's games, yes? Or do all the voters rush to place their votes late on a Saturday night?

Good on Tyler Neal for getting a share of the Sixth Man of the Year award!

I prefer to see the Sooners lose at all things but with that being said OU has gotten the short end of the stick on many issue with reguard to their team this year. From national rankings to individual honors in the conference OU has been disrespected. They have got to be the most silent second place team from the strongest conference that I can remember.

One of two things: 1) If ou has no players worthy of 1st team honors and they finish second in the league then it is a heck of a job coaching.

2) How can you give the honor to a coach that was swept by said competition.

Finally how does a team finish 2nd in the toughest league in the country without talented players or lack of first class coaching. Perhaps you can do that lacking one, but not both.

Not surprised since Texas was picked to finish 8th this season and ended up the #3 seed in the Big 12 tourney. But, OU was picked to finish 5/6th (tied with KSU) and ended up the clear #2 team in the conference. I truly think Kruger deserves COY, but understand at least a little why Barnes received the honor.

This is a coach's poll, correct?

Would love to be able to see the ballots.

If Kruger hadn't swept Barnes, I would have SLIGHTLY understood. But since he did, I don't understand at all.

Earl, you are spot on.

People just don't seem to notice LK, all he does is win with little fanfare and according to the experts, not the best players.

That being said, LK would just as soon it be that way, that's why he's a great coach and program builder.

Will say, I think it is obvious the votes were cast before yesterday's games.

A joke of a conference.

I could understand bill self here, but the only thing Barnes earned is not being canned just yet.

Barnes let one of the best jobs in the conference, perhaps the country, hit rock bottom on his own watch. He had back to back pathetic seasons at UT, which is unacceptable. He should not be rewarded with the CoY for finishing tied for third in his 15th or 16th year on the job. He's only had 5 seasons that were worse than this in his entire ut career. Not to mention he won the conference his first season on the job and didn't finish worse than 3rd until his 7th season.

For lack of a better metaphor, he got a par and won PGA player of the year.

Meanwhile, Kruger inherited a dumpster fire, on probation, no less. In <3 seasons, he has transformed the sooners into a top 15 team in the nation, and easily the second best team in the best conference.

Shame on the big12 for this travesty of epic proportions.

Hard to believe the best award ou got was Tyler Neals co-6th man.

Look at Texas - all 5 of their starters were honored for something (is Damarcus Holland a starter?)
If you're gonna list 5 Texas players between the All Conference Teams why not honor OU with the coach?

How can you vote Ridley over Spangler and Embid?
Spangler's as good as the 5 forwards on the 3rd team
