Bola alade?

If that's him finishing on those plays with the dunks, etc then that is the most athetic walkon I think i've ever seen. He has no other offers? Unreal.

Few offers I think. From story it seems he wanted to be high d1 and lew stuck with him through an injury!

He and mankin may be 2 of the better walk-ons in the big 12.

2 on 2 walk on tourney, I'm taking our dudes big.

A walk-on tourney would be awesome. They should host it during the Big 12 tourney on the last day of the tournament before the game.

Do you know if Sotonye Jamabo, the 2015 SG the Sooners are recruiting, is related to Soso Jamabo, the RB being recruited by Cale Gundy?

Strong kid, not many HS players have a body like him. He is coming to OU to earn a schollie at some point, if he doesn't, will have some options to transfer if he wants to play. His biggest detriment as a collegiate player is he is a really streak shooter and plays more as a post.

His team lost in the private school state championship game and beat Allen (McNeace's team) earlier this year at Allen. They're pretty solid and he was a big part of it.

Just watched the video. Man, that's one hell of a walk-on.

boutaroust,
if by related you mean the same person, then yes.
they are related :-)

Wait. We're recruiting a player against ourselves? I'm assuming he won't be a two sport player since we've had so few.

I finally got to watch the highlight video.

All I can say is, WOW!!! Are you guys sure this kid will be a walk on next year? Alade can play!

The walk ons are always athletic. They would destroy you or anyone else in basketball but for the few guys that played college basketball that participate.

Ski was the best basketball player in the entire greek system, without a doubt, when he was a walk on at OU.

That's a bit of an exaggeration. They don't suck, obviously, but there are often times better HS players that never play college ball, then many walk ons.

this is true of some walkons ... but in general .. the OU basketball walkons .. vs the best of the rest on campus .. the walkon's would lose most of the time ..

Have to agree here. There are so many factors you aren't considering, like what a kid's plans for after college are? Is he completely burnt out from playing ball his entire life already? Does he want to coach HS or college basketball after graduation?

There is some serious talent walking around college campuses that knew they weren't going to the NBA, so started working towards their career away from the game. Other kids can't get enough, or want it to be their career after college in coaching.

I will say for Bola, he is definitely one of the better basketball players I have seen be a walk on for us. He will be a great extra body in practice and assuming he redshirts and continues to grow and mature, might even be a valuable body we could bring off the bench if we have some injury trouble in a season.

Absolutely. And that is just more of the genius that is Lon Kruger.

Giving our guards better/bigger/stronger guys to go up against in practice cannot be anything but a good thing.
