Bolden...ku getting top 25 center

Shaq came out and he said he was paid. Booster give money to kids all the time. Cam Newton was bought for 250k.

Heck even OU boosters and coach gave players money... It happens.

Bama Oline came out and said he was paid.

I dont think its everyone, but it happens. Jobs are given all the time, even in HS.

Shaq saying he was paid has nothing to do with Kentucky and their players.

Making that statement means that our players are being paid.

Calipari has been in trouble everywhere. Brown cheated at KU. boeheim cheats at Syracuse. I don't think every coach cheats, but to say Kentucky isn't seems like a big stretch to me.

I think Kansas is still in the hunt for Thon Maker.

As far as playing time, which seems to be Bolden's top priority, there'll be a lot of Spangler minutes available.

If we wanted to really sell him, we could close this deal.
1) Close to home. Parents and Jeff Webster could see him play every home game plus a few away games like Baylor, TCU and Texas.
2) lots of friends and familiar faces on team - as much as six other Texans
3) Team up with Khadeem to be the blockingest front court in NCAA history.
4) Coaching staff with a proven record of getting the most out of player's potential
5) Might be playing for the defending national champion

You obviously have proof since you are making these accusations!!! Prove it!!!

Who has been paid?
Who is paying?
How do you know?

You are right I don't have proof...but I am also not naïve...I am cynical. At basketball mad places like Kentucky and KU there is just too much money for everyone to make if they are top 5/10...therefore some goes to players and those that influence them to help make sure those teams stay at the top.

we have more than enough money, except Lon K. does things the right way.

That's why we need to support him by filling up the noble every night.

OU

I agree with this. I was just joking when I wrote that. I don't want OU to pay players unless the rules are changed and all scholarship athletes get $X per month.

OU did try to pay players in Bahama's. Cost a coach a job and a booster his spot at games.

Ou runs a clean program. Get involved in the AAU summer scene. You'll learn a lot. HS kids are being paid. I know for a fact.

Haha. Go look at the history of the recruitment of guys like the Morris twins, Ben McLemore, Jamari Traylor, Darrell Arthur, Mario Chalmers, Cliff Alexander etc. etc. etc. If you want to go back to the Roy Williams era, go look at the Brandon Rush recruitment (there were many others).

In nearly all of those cases, KU is more than happy to pull every shady trick in the book regarding academic eligibility. With Chalmers, they hired his dad as "Director of Basketball Operations", a position he held until Mario left early for the NBA. McLemore's AAU coach admitted that he accepted thousands to steer Ben to KU (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...as-jayhawks-ben-mclemore-darius-cobb/2131775/)

The list goes on, and on, and on.

the pump brothers at KU as well. Ticket selling and such.

Do you guys really believe that KU and UK are paying players to come and play basketball?
Kids are going there because those teams put guys in the NBA, and they get to play in front of 10k+ every home game.

Yes I believe they pay players.

Bill Self himself told me years back to have a top 10 recruiting class you have to cheat.

The last coach got caught facilitating a loan for a player. Last Year Yo-Yo got caught helping a booster pay players. So yes our players have been paid before.

Who: Cliff Alexander
How do I know: NCAA found out and suspended him last season which is why he didn't play in the Game in Norman

Wow! Bill Self admitted to cheating..I'm sure if or when a KSU fans reads this the NCAA will be trying to contact you with all the dates and time of your conversation with Self.

You need to read that story and see what part KU had in that? If I'm not mistaken, it was none.

And I heard Shaq was paid while he was at LSU...I didn't hear that he came to LSU b/c he was paid by a coach. Big difference since this was about why kids committed to play for these other schools.

I'm not saying kids don't get money from coaches or boosters. I'm just tired of hearing that these kids are choosing others schools b/c they are being paid...with nothing but an accusation b/c you think its right without any proof. If anyone is going to say this kid chose Kentucky b/c he was paid...please follow it up with how you know he got paid.

If you believe that, I've got a land deal I'd like to discuss with you. But either way, it's another example of a KU player tied to some kind of improper benefit.

And besides, how is the Ben McLemore story not the "proof" you require? His AAU coach straight up admitted he took money and there are KU documents showing they let his "agent" come on visits with him on visits to KU while he was being recruited. You are either incredibly naive or just willfully choosing to ignore the evidence if you don't believe this is commonplace at places like KU and UK.

A booster tried to give the guys spending money through the strength and conditioning coach. OU stopped it, fired the coach and no longer associates with the booster. It is fine to bring stuff up that is negative but at least speak about it accurately.

Well OU can not pay players..all the money goes to pay football coaches and Sherri Coale

Here we go again with "if you believe that" statement. Prove it.

And again...what happened with McLemore has no effect on the commitment of any KU player right now. I am not denying that cheating has happened or is happening. I'm saying...stop making accusations about a kids commitment unless you have proof. Stop bringing up guys in the past. We get it...cheating happens. I'm tired of hearing a kid is going to a school b/c he was paid when you have no proof of it what so ever.
