Why do people keep comparing OU basketball to Kansas football. That is downright silly.
Bill Self can talk about his “system” all he wants. It seems to turn very talented guys into mediocre NBA players. Look at what Trae is doing, and think about what Kansas players usually do in the league.
Was Paul pierce the last all star from Kansas before Joel?

He’s isn’t signing early as of now. We will still recruit him.
I think so. From a very quick search, it looks like only those two and Manning have been all-stars in the past 40 years. If Buddy and Trae go to an all-star game in the next year or two, I think we'll have tied them over that time period. That's amazing to me.

Wednesday is the first day of an eight-day NCAA signing period. Trey Phipps, Thompson’s Booker T. Washington teammate, signed with OU on Wednesday.
For Bryce Thompson, there is the option of waiting until April to sign his letter of intent. The extra time would give the Thompsons a chance to monitor NCAA-Kansas developments. In September, Kansas received from the NCAA a notice of rules-violations allegations.
Rod Thompson says there be no waiting. He says Bryce “definitely” will sign his Kansas letter of intent this week.
Pooh Williamson now is an OU assistant. Williamson was Thompson’s predecessor at TU’s point-guard position, and they’ve been friends since they were little guys in Beggs.

Rod Thompson paraphrases some of Self’s winning pitch to Bryce: “Elite players go to elite schools. If you’re an elite quarterback, you go to OU. If you’re an elite basketball player, you go to Kansas. You were custom-built for this.”

Yeah, I know Self has put some decent bigs in the league (Morris bros.. Jackson, Embiid, Oubre, Wiggins, Gooden) but his track record with guards is not great at all. Graham is having a good year so far this year, but even if you threw in Brandon Rush & Mario Chalmers, not one G has made a big impact or even average double figures in the NBA. Rush & Chalmers are the only ones that made a "career" out of the NBA.What about all those elite point guards in the league from Kansas, Bill?
