Bryce Thompson timeline?

Has nothing to do with love for KU. It is common sense. KU is a national power with or without him. We have competed against KU teams with kids rated higher than Bryce for decades. KU will be KU regardless. OSU, on the other hand, would benefit a ton by pairing him with Cunningham for a season.

Plus, though it is a longshot, at least there is a chance that he will end up at OU this way, if KU is sanctioned before he enrolls next August.

You should not feel qualified to speak on such things.

Ahh yes, the ad hominem attack -- always a favorite approach of those who can't seem to find a flaw in the actual argument. Also, a very classy move.

if there is punishment. BT will be given his full release. Its in writing.

May not sign early just to ensure he has options.

The whole post was filled with flaws, so I didn't know where to start.

"KU will be KU"

The streak is over, and we blew them out last year in Norman. This is the most vulnerable they've looked in over a decade. I don't for a second think KU will get the hammer dropped on them, but I wouldn't be shocked if they were searching for a new head coach before long.

"We have competed against KU teams with kids rated higher than Bryce for decades."

They didn't have any 5-star recruits last year, and they didn't have anybody in the Rivals top 130 until Bryce committed. So much for that logic.

Good luck to him. I hope KU gets hammered with the NCAA although I doubt they get anything. They have been cheating for years. Their ticket office scandal years ago was all for paying ticket brokers who also had AAU teams. Guys were bought and still have been and now Self is on the wire tap and nobody cares.

Yep. KU has a whole network of cheating. They’ve cheated for decades but bill self really took it up another level.

It’s amazing that duke and Kansas cheat so brazenly and nobody cares. When a lesser program cheats, they get hammered.

Last year was a down year for them and they were still in the Top 15 all season. If that is a bad year for them, I think it just shows how good their program is, especially in comparison to OSU, which was the entire point of the debate -- would we rather have him go to KU or OSU.

And I think it takes more than one season of having no five stars to debunk my point about their recruiting. I'd be curious to know the last season when KU hasn't had more four or five stars (and future NBA players) on their roster than anyone else in the Big 12, let alone OSU. I seem to recall them having guys like Embiid, Wiggins, Dotson, Grimes, Selby, Jackson, Henry, Oubre, Ellis, etc. Even guys who don't come in with quite the hype (Mason, Graham) end up having not-so-shabby careers. So, again, I will stand by my assertion that Bryce would have been a much more significant get for OSU than KU.

"The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky they put Western Kentucky on probation."

Word has it in some corners that his dad and mother wanted him to go to OU.

Throw in the NBA guys who were advising him that Kruger was a better fit for his skill set and goals, and it seems as if we did all we could do. I'm with those who are disappointed that he chose a school currently under a cloud of serious scandal, but obviously it's his call. I wish him well, generally, but I'll be cheering harder than ever against KU while he's there.

Man that stinks, of course OU won when Rayford was pushing TY to a blue blood. I guess Bryce couldn't shake the desire to play for a basketball first school.

Ill work up some 2021 names. OU in a lot of good ones. Several locals we've talked about a lot.

CBS sports is reporting that Thompson committed to Kansas

Oketex, you may need to stop taking those long naps! :)

Seriously, I wish I could. Gets tougher every day at our age, my friend.

I'd rather Bryce go to KU than OSU, but I don't know how people can say you're wrong just by giving your opinion. There is no right or wrong on where someone wants a player to go, it's all opinion.

Now I still can't imagine KU not getting hit WITH THE WIRE TAP. If they get off easy I can't imagine how much dirtier things will get.

I think the last point is something that is overlooked a lot. Sure, there are plenty of times when people can fairly assume that a program is cheating. Zion is a great example -- I don't think anyone believe Duke didn't do anything shady to get him. But the NCAA can't exactly punish schools just based on assumptions. I've listed several examples of blue blood programs receiving significant sanctions when there is actual proof (including Kentucky, notwithstanding Tark's quote about Cleveland State), but I won't rehash the list here.

I was at the OU/ku football game...at one of the old hotels by the stadium, several b-ball recruits hanging around. Smaller guard from Oak Hill...and as we were leaving a 6’7 ish kid got into a 4 door Porsche with a 6’ 4ish white kid.

Things are good at ku.🙄

From my reading I think:

Top Targets
Manny Obaseki
Damion Collins

Good Gets
Jaxson Robinson
Bijan Cortes

Hopefuls
KJ Adams
Trey Alexander

So, you’re saying his pops KNOWS he’ll be “taken care of” at ku?

;)

You always have a relationship with your previous coach, as long as you saw it through. From what's been said is even the parents were pro OU, but I doubt his dad steered him away from KU.
