Bryce Thompson timeline?

For all the NBA lovers ..You can thank the thunder for some of the issues with crowds or lack of. Doesn't hurt football but basketball suffers, even when OU is good.

I'm sure it does a little but it is a small reason for bad attendence numbers.
If it is a winning team that is fun to watch, fans show up.

I don't know if it is.

I don't think OSU has a chance. Too many negatives there. But if he wants shared spotlight with Cade, its possible.

Ou made some good points about the system KU runs in their last pitch. How well does it fit to run hi low over and over.

The decision is made, family knows. that's it.

If I were betting, I'd say KU.

KU

How good is Phipps, his teammate? Was offering him a ploy to get Thompson, or is he legit on his own? I didn't think Lon would offer a guy to get a guy, but I don't know..

I think it's mix of both.

He's the best shooter in the state of OK.

Averaged 18 ppg, 5.2 apg, and 4.5 rpg last year (his jr season). Bryce, by comparison, averaged 19.6 ppg, 5.2 apg, and 5 rpg.

Trey scored 42 (8 threes) in their state championship game win - helped earn him the state tourney MVP award.

I worry about his D at the PG position, but with development, he should end up being a solid contributor at OU. JMO.

From Bill Haisten...

At 10 a.m. Tuesday, in Booker T.’s Nathan E. Harris Fieldhouse, Thompson announces his college choice. The event is streamed on CBS Sports HQ.

It’ll be a huge moment for the Thompson family. For Bryce, there will be unbridled joy along with some discomfort. It won’t be easy to say no to three coaches with whom he has established friendship bonds.

As Thompson nears the finish line of a two-year process, there also is real fatigue.

“I am relieved,” he said. “I look forward to being able to just work out and get ready for the high school season. Not having to answer calls every hour.

“This has been good and a blessing, but I’m glad it’s nearly over.”

He will never play PG. If he plays he’ll guard other shooters & stretch the floor. I doubt he can contribute until his Junior year.

My hunch is he'll be a lot like Lazenby.

May be the best pure shooter in the country. Sure hes 6'1 and white.

Getting better every day. Getting better off the bounce. finishes well at the rim.

Has to get stronger but if hes open. Count it.

Defense is much improved. showed that this weekend and all summer. Hes playing high level d1 kids.

Last 2 years got off to a combined 23-2 start and the crowds were still awful.

The inflated attendance numbers they post are irrelevant.

it is what it is man. let it go. I kinda like the way coach lon is scheduling things with so many neutral sites. if our attendance is going to be so poor then start making us the road warriors like Coppin State and UMBC have been so many times. I can think of many advantages to playing away more. Make it a selling point.

CBs on 247 are flying in for KU for BT. Would have been great to get him, but in the end, it seemed OU never actually led for the kid. Oh well, better than giving OSU an insane class for 2020.

Yep, pretty disappointing to lose out on a great Oklahoma kid. I realize he wants to play in front of big crowds, etc. I just don't understand how in the world a kid or his parents could allow themselves to play for such a snake, and cheating program such as KU. This isn't a situation where people "have heard", or they "probably are". They've been caught red handed. Their coach antagonizingly and arrogantly flubs his nose at the NCAA with that snoop deal. I know it sounds like sour grapes, but it just seems weird to me that out of all the choices he has, he chooses the one with by far the most controversy. Doesn't seem fair, either. For OU, any time there's even a HINT of trouble with the NCAA or anything like it in football or basketball, recruits scatter.
