Bryce Thompson Transferring

Serious question. Why are none of these “good news transfers” to OSU not concerned about the NCAA sanctions nipping at the heels of the Pokes last year? There was even some speculation that Cade Cunningham might not be able to compete in the post season.

Was that just the typical smoke screen the NCAA lays down to make it look like they’re actually doing something to control cheating? Seems strange to me that what appeared to be big news last season is not on the radar now.

EDIT: Found what may be the answer to my question on cowboysrideforfree.com:

There are likely three issues that are affecting Oklahoma State on the recruiting trail:

No. 1: The Postseason Ban
Because Oklahoma State’s appeal of their postseason ban was unresolved ahead of postseason play in 2021, the Cowboys were allowed to participate in the Big 12 and NCAA tournament.

That’s not going to be the case for 2022, so the uncertainty of OSU’s post-season status for the upcoming season is certainly going to give some players pause, especially those transfers looking for one final season in college basketball.

Robinson was good coming out of high school, but he didn't show the quickness or athleticism at A&M that made me think he would be a consistent contributor at this level. He might be a solid bench player as an upperclassmen, but I feel like we can pick those guys up in any class. I like Moser's strike while the iron's hot mentality.

Also, if the choice was BT or Robinson or Mawein or Robinson, Robinson's losing those offers every time. Good Oklahoma player, seems like a great kid, and will probably have a successful career at Arkansas. Just not a program changer...

Not a smart decision if he has any desire to play in the tournament. Maybe he doesn’t, in which case I wouldn’t want him on the team.

The unknown and new relationship was too much to over come from what I hear.

Hate to hear it. Admittedly, I have/had absolutely no inside knowledge on what was going on with BT, but my gut told me he would end up in Stillwater. Shame. I wonder who our plan B is?

Here's to the day when hope has some value. Seems like we get kernels of it at best.

Moser has put together one of the best staffs in college bball. Once fall comes around and recruits get to see the product on the floor with this group recruiting I have no doubt all these recruiting losses OU has had since Trae left will work in our favor.

As a fan it is extremely frustrating that Bryce and Rod have rejected OU a second time especially when I think it's clear that OU offers him the best opportunity to succeed in both instances. Personally I think this speaks of them not learning much from the disaster @ Kansas where promises/probation were made again.

shocking that i was wrong. lol. oh well. we doing this with or without you. just glad it's over.

Seems like he kind of strung OU along twice. But hey that's recruiting! Good luck to him. Onwards and upwards.. Hope Moser has a backup plan like Coach said he does. Get Mawein and a good scoring wing and I think that would be considered a success..
