I won’t question his talent. But I absolutely question his attitude and nothing he has done makes me think he is a team player. He doesn’t seem to care about playing in the tournament, if he chooses osu. He left ku because he didn’t get his way. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have him if he wants to be a part of the team but those are red flags to me.

We literally took in 5 transfers. All had media spot light around them. Interviews. articles written about their options. Several of guys had videos made for commitments. its 2021. If youre still thinking this way, the game has passed you. I dont mean that to be offensive.

You act like the kid is doing something wrong. You wont meet a better family. He left KU because Self lied. There are 1800 other transfers that are finding new homes.

You wont meet a better kid. Worked at footlocker for years in HS while his dad made a million dollars. How many 5 stars are working there as a JR in HS and live in 5000sq ft house?

Dont get pissed when he chooses a different school.

Did the grove brothers make a video? Did Harmon? BT is not as good as the aforementioned. This is the second time BT has chosen a school staring postseason bans in the face. He is dead set on making the nba and it is obvious that is more important to him than winning. Not the type of player I would want to have as a teammate personally. If you think all kids are made like that today then the game has passed you by. ABD seems to have been right about this guy.

Why are videos selfish? Harmon was one of the most selfish kids to come through OU. End of story.

Harmon lied to the coach and said he was coming back... Just testing NBA waters but somehow thats better than be upfront and honest with OU OSU and TU as Bryce has been??

Groves didnt make a video but did half a dozen podcast, radio interviews, articles in Prep webpages...

NO ONE that knows much about the OSU ncaa ban thinks its going to happen. OSU and NCAA included. Could it? yes but its Slim.

We will have to agree to disagree on the osu postseason ban being lifted. They gave osu a pass this year because they wanted to see Cade in the tournament for monetary reasons. Cade is gone now so the penalty will be served this year IMO. BT doesn’t move the needle for the ncaa like Cade did. Time will tell there.

You cannot compare the way groves handled his transfer recruitment to what BT has done. Make no mistake, groves was a much higher profile transfer, too. He could have named his destination. I am sure BT and his family are fine people. I am also positive that you know them better than me. All I can do is judge him by his public actions as a recruit, player for Ku, and as a transfer 1 year later. Fair or unfair, he seems like a selfish player to me, talented, but selfish.

Why can’t we compare the 2? Bryce made a 1/2 videos and groves did 9 interviews…
They gave them a pass and all other appeals due to covid.

I can tell you Osu doesn’t think they’ll be a ban at this point. And no one else does either at this point. I hope they do!

So only ncaa games matter? Some crazy number of ncaa players feel they can play in the nba. 10 of our 13 do.

Ncaa is that vessel whether you like it or not. There are other options. Gleague. Overseas.

Are you judging our transfers groves x2, goldwire, chargois by the same standard??? I doubt it because it doesn’t fit your narrative to hate on BT for choosing Osu. Take off your glasses.

Goldwire is here because he wants to score more than he did at duke… isn’t that selfish?
Groves wants to play in one of the top conferences in America and see if he can do what he did… isn’t that selfish?

Ethan wants to play big 12 close to home… isn’t that selfish?

BT was highly recruited out of HS just a year ago.

The Groves brothers had almost no offers, so this was really their first time going through the process. I wouldn't expect those situations to be the same. Also, making a video and doing interviews isn't exactly the same thing either. The player is choosing to make the video. The interviews are going to be initiated by reporters and such.
 
I'm not going to call the kid selfish for making the video...it just isn't my style or the way I would do something. Whatever a kid does he does......and as far as picking OSU over OU...it is his prerogative...he had to make the decision that was best for him.

That said I hope we kick their a$$ every time we play them.

if BT picks osu i believe that it will be the first time an Oklahoma high school mcdaa will ever be on the osu roster ..

I agree and will add to this.

BT made a video to announce an announcement. How many transfers actually have an announcement time? I don't think any of ours have and I can't think of anyone that has that I know of it. Add the fact that he had a video to announce his announcement and I don't think you will find anyone that has done that.

I am okay with pursuing an opportunity that will help his path for BT or anyone. We do that in our careers. But from both recruiting periods, in HS and now, the kid appears to love the attention and hype. And to be honest, even though he has great potential, he has done little in college to warrant the kind of hype we are seeing with his announcement.

I would have loved to have him in C&C either time in his recruitment, but from what we are seeing with his love for attention and hype more than actual results, he will fit in much better with Mike Boynton.

IF? Is there still a chance that he'll pick OU? Thought Coach and others confirmed it's OSU and he's just announcing his decision today.

What makes you think he will shoot it well? His stats at KU don’t prove that to be true. Some might blame that on the freshman college jitters, but he averaged 39% from the field and 30% from three on his AAU team.

Assuming he picks OSU as expected today, I’m anxious to see how well he will shoot with Goldwire and Harkless in his shorts for an entire game.
