What's going on in college sports is more super-charged than mere free agency. In the pros, you have to stick to a contractual commitment for a certain number of years, at which point you get to move on (and, one hopes, cash in). In college, an athlete can move on at any point in time.

Maybe that's how this will develop... Scholarship offers become more like contracts. 4 year contracts, 1 year contracts, etc.

pretty sure most are 1 yr contracts already, renewed every year. In another thread I mentioned an issue with my son...D1 Juco baseball. The school actually told me they could make him pay the fall 'ship back if they really wanted to.

interesting...so I wonder if the whole "stay till you graduate" point counting crap the ncaa did awhile back is in place?

if a kid transfers, doesn't graduate, etc..

Agreed, although I wouldn't be surprised to see Williams go to Texas. Follows his coach there.

Why not both?? If we could add both of those guys and also get either Harmon to come back or the Goldwire kid....I'd be fat and happy!!!

If one has to be a backup that might deter one from coming along for the ride. If we featured a lineup of 3 bigs that would mean only 2 guards and it seems like 3 guard lineups are the new thing.

If one has to be a backup that might deter one from coming along for the ride. If we featured a lineup of 3 bigs that would mean only 2 guards and it seems like 3 guard lineups are the new thing.

I don’t think any team will play three bigs at the same time in this day and age, nor should they. That would be a recipe for disaster even if they are all good players.
