Buddy's Kings debut

Buddy with a few great crossovers. Trade to the Kings best thing for Buddy obviously.

put some guys on skates last night. watching buddy succeed just makes me smile.

Have you met the knicks? lol

Bottom 5 probably. But at least they give a coach more than a year. Jackson needs to quit trying to coach & force the triangle on the coaches he hires.

LA Times had a great upbeat article on Buddy a couple of days ago. Says his game has really picked up in the last month.
Could he be in the running for Rookie if the Year?

No, but he is the 2016 NBA Draft scoring champion. He also deserves to be on the All-Rookie team. He closed out a strong rookie campaign with 16 points (7-15 shooting). He averaged between 10-11 ppg, but can see him going for 14-15 ppg next year. Well done, Buddy Buckets!

Let's hope the Kings can hit on their two first round picks and get Buddy some help. I think it was good to have him have free reign on a bad team to get up shots and get confidence, but I don't want to see him on a terrible team forever

That link shows final stats for all of this season's rookies. Buddy's numbers were significantly higher after the trade -- he averaged just over 15 ppg with the Kings and shot a great percentage. He won't win Rookie of the Year and won't get many, if any, votes, but his overall numbers ended up being very similar to Brogdon's, and Brogdon is likely to finish third in the voting. A great rookie year by any reasonable standards, and given his improvement throughout the season, I can't wait to see how he does next season.

I think he'll get a bunch of 3rd place votes. I've already seen a few voters tweet their ballot that have him 3rd.

I'll start by emphasizing that I'm not saying I think Buddy will get to this level, but for perspective, James Harden averaged 9.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 1.8 apg, and shot 40.3% from 3 his rookie season. Very comparable to Buddy's 10.6, 3.3, 1.5, and 39.1%.

Again, there are obvious and significant differences (e.g. Harden was much younger as a rookie and has ball handling skills Buddy probably never will). Nevertheless, I think it illustrates that Buddy really is on pace to have a very solid NBA career.

Edit: Another, lower-end but probably more fair comparison: JJ Reddick averaged 6.0 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.9 apg and shot 38.8% from 3 as a rookie with Orlando.

Did you see that cross over of buddy's tho? He didn't have that at ou. I think you're right on the comparison

The trade might be the best thing for Buddy and his career. Hope the kings can get a good PG, and hopefully WCS and Skal will be good up front with him. If Rudy Gay at the 3 can be effective but not selfish they might have some talent

Obviously, I hope you're right, but as much as I love Buddy, I think it's only fair to acknowledge that he doesn't have the same kind of upside as Harden did as a rookie.

That said, I am as certain as I am that the sun will rise in the east tomorrow that Buddy will put in the work to improve his game. The crossover you referenced is clear evidence of that. It's going to be fun to watch Buddy continue to prove his doubters wrong.
