Buddy's Kings debut

We heard you the first time, and didn't care. Still don't.

Seeing how he is right and that they haven't moved this thread to the NBA board I wish this would stay about Buddy & the Kings future, not Hinkie's disaster at Philly.

Nobody said that. People know you have to tank. But he tanked poorly. What good are all their supposed assets right now?
Anyone can put together a bad team to increase their lottery odds, but Hinkie also acquired near-certain lottery picks from other franchises. Two of the most valuable assets Hinkie acquired are draft picks that haven't been used yet.

The Sixers have about a 50/50 shot of getting the #4 or #5 pick from the Lakers in this year's loaded draft; if that pick doesn't convey this year, it's completely unprotected next year. Either way, that's incredible value for Michael Carter-Williams, a former #11 overall pick who was traded at his peak value.

Hinkie acquired the Kings' (Buddy Hield's team, so it's on topic) unprotected 2019 first. What are the chances that the Kings aren't still hot garbage in two years? No one is fixing that mess within two years. Also, if the Kings (15% to land in the Top 3) jump the Sixers in this year's lottery, Philly has the right to swap Top 10 picks.

I'd rather read anything that might relate to buddy

There's a nicer way to do that, you know.

I tend to agree that discussion of Hinkie and the Kings is related to Buddy -- maybe others disagree -- but it's possible to disagree without acting like that.

I thought conversation was pretty good, and was enjoying it. I hope this gets moved to the NBA board, so that we don't have to stifle it. What happens with the Kings directly affects Buddy.

I don't see why conversation involving a potential executive for the team one of 2 Naismith winners OU has ever had, needs to be moved. It's the offseason.

Meanwhile someones horrible (as in not cleaver at all, since no one fell for it) attempt at an April Fools joke is still on the Main page.

17 points, 3-5 from 3. Kings lose to Lakers though.

The 2016 NBA Draft scoring champion will likely go down to the last game. Malcolm Brogden has been injured and not played the past few games. He's stuck on 10.3 PPG. Buddy Hield is now up to a season-high 10.2 PPG.

Buddy averaging 14.5 since joining the kings with an effective FG% of 59%. As a guard, that's tough to beat. Expect him to really break out next year.

Buddy still has a chance to catch / pass Malcolm Brogden for the 2016 NBA Draft rookie scoring champion. Brogden is at 10.3 and Hield is 10.1. In fairness, though, Brogden has had a better rookie year regardless if Buddy catches him.

With only 5-6 games left in the season, here is how I see the R.O.Y. voting:

1) Embiid (2014 NBA Draft)
2) Brogden
3) Saric (2014 NBA Draft)
4) Hield
5) Murray or Chriss

Buddy struggled with his shooting tonight (4-16), but scored 12 to likely stay at 10.2 PPG. I'm quoting an earlier post due to not doing my NBA rookie homework (I may still be overlooking someone). Embiid, Brogden and Saric are LOCKS for the NBA All-Rookie team, no doubt. However, Buddy will also be competing with Willie Hernangomez of the Knicks and Yogi Ferrell of the Mavs for the other two spots along with Murray and Chriss.

Based on a late-season push by Hernangomez (especially with P.E.R.), this is my new order:

1) Embiid
2) Brogden
3) Saric
4) Hernangomez
5) Hield

He's played really well with the Kings and I'm a little surprised because he had more help (obviously) with the Pelicans. He's clearly starting to put things together.

Ferrell only played 1/2 a season

I wouldnt think he'd get the nod

30 tonight

12/20, 4/8

It vaulted Hield up to 10.5 PPG. Brogden is at 10.2 and Farrell 10.1. Brogden will likely have limited minutes coming back from an injury, and I'm not sure Farrell has played enough games to qualify. We'll know for sure late tonight, but it looks like Buddy Hield will be the 2016 NBA Draft rookie scoring champion!

The Kings are going to end up winning that trade with the pelicans.
