Just wanted to congratulate him on not listening to a lot of people on this board and say that I am glad that he kept shooting the ball. You're the result of what hard work and experience can do for a basketball player.

Good to see him break out of his funk the past few games.

Why would anyone listen/take seriously the babble written on a message board?

poster, coach or player?

I agree.

You could tell last night he has taken the team on his back because he was taking shots down the stretch even when he was covered like a blanket, and he was making them.

I think he deserves all conference consideration, at least honorable mention but given how bad our team is I don't know if he will get it. We don't get much attention so it would have to be from the coaches because the press from any state other than Oklahoma won't vote for him.

It amazes me some of the people that come on here and just put the screws to Cade for taking too many shots.

For me it's usually not the quantity, but the quality of shot he takes. A guarded, fade away three with 29 seconds on the shot clock is a bad shot. He takes his fair share of those.

I think Cade should take the most shots, just not the most bad ones.

It is amazing to me that anyone can dislike an Oklahoma kid that has done nothing but play his heart out, represent the University in a great way, and receive academic all-conference honors. What a bum.

He was 3-9 from behind the arc... He took twice as many shots as anyone on the court and scored twice as many points. Why is this amazing?

Don't get me wrong, him throwing up crap and having it come down 40% of the time was the reason we weren't beaten by... oh well I guess we were still pasted so what the hell does it matter anyway?

Exactly. :clap

IMO, it's his team so let him shoot as much as he wants. He has to take a lot of shots because Blair doesn't shoot much (which isn't necessarily bad) and Clark is not aggressive enough. That leaves Pledger, Fitz, and Cade amongst the starters and Neal when he comes in.

I just think that it was a crying shame to see people come on here and criticize him shooting 3's or any shots for the matter. Honestly, of any of our players...He deserves nothing but praise. His shot may not always fall, but he still gives it his all in all areas of the game.

I know Neal couldn't buy a bucket last night..but I'm not going to come on here and criticize him for shooting open shots.

i think if he shaved his head again, people would not insult him as much

I don't think anyone should keep shooting in a game if they can't hit. Cade isn't the kind of shooter that suddenly gets better in a game, so I'm all for the coach (ha!) telling him to back off or try something else. I'd say he needs to draw fouls but he's been mediocre from the line as well.

He IS, however, our best rebounder and defender. That's mainly why I don't mind seeing him on the court all the time.

The problem we have is that all of our players are medium level role players. Fitz is a 6th or 7th man that scores and revitalizes an offense, but he's being asked to be the primary post man when he can't rebound to save his life. Cade is a scrapper and spot up shooter that's being asked to create his own shot and run the offense. Et cetera.

Keep in mind, 33% is not a HORRIBLE percentage...especially consdering some of the alternatives...:ez-roll:

Cade is 13th in the Big 12 in 3pt% and tied for 321st in all of D1.

Absolutely, 33% isn't bad at all. It's about average. But coming on here and saying "This! This is why we can't rip Cade!" is silly. He did nothing amazing and has done much more UN-amazing recently.

Well, if you're ONLY looking at his shooting percentage in THAT game then I would agree, but this game is more than that.

I'd say what CD is doing IS amazing. He CONTINUALLY plays his guts out, shoots the ball at an above average clip (overall) and has never wavered this entire season.

He's not really shooting at an above average clip, though. He's mediocre at shooting. His D and rebounding are good, though.

He's David Godbold.

Godbold never shot over 40%...
