I would pick the Sooners in Norman, but they have been strong in Ames. While ISU beat Virginia earlier in the season, I don't know that they have improved as much since then as OU has. I think it's a close one whether OU can pull it out or not.

Probably not, but if ISU is cold from 3 we have a shot. They controlled most of the game against OSU but let it get away late so it'll be a tough contest.

I don't think they will, but it isn't impossible...

The best thing for this team is home cookin, but they haven't played horrible on the road in their first 2 conf road games against teams we knew they couldn't beat...so maybe they can pull one out...

Yeah, it's definitely not impossible.

Of course, I don't think it will happen. Although, before today I would have thought we would be destroyed by their 3 point shooting, but Colorado really struggled from there today, and I'd like to think our defense had a hand in that.

But, since this game is located at a place not called the Lloyd Noble Center, we won't have much of a chance. We just don't look the same on the road.

What I will be hoping for is to see a little improvement in our road play. A few things I'd like to see and be satisfied despite a loss are looking comfortable on the court from start to finish, longer periods of strong play, and possibly even having a chance late in the game. If the Sooners pull that off against a fairly solid team in a tough place to play, I'll be pretty pleased.

More steps in the right direction please

If we play a man, we won't be able to contain Diante Garrett. He is turning into a Russell Westbrook clone. But we do have a week until we play them, so hopefully Capel can get us in the right zone to contain him.

I like our chances much better with this years team than I would have with last years team for one simple reason. Transition defense. Last year TMG, Warren, Gallon etc just refused to get back on defense which led to a ton of fast break layups and dunks. The only time we won last year was if TMG, Cade and Crock were on fire.

This year's team is much improved in transition defense. Hopefullly we can watch their game tonight and their game Wednesday night against Tech and figure out how to slow them down.

It's hard to know how good or bad ISU is. They have played surprisingly well, although they did get beat by 30 at Missouri tonight. But most people get blown out there.

Iowa State looked tired tonight. OU usually struggles in Ames, but it all depends on if Iowa State hits 3's.

Missouri coasted to that 30 point win, too. Probably could've been 40+ if Anderson wanted it.

But I wouldn't read a whole lot into that. Iowa State actually looked solid. They just aren't built right now to play with a team like Missouri, especially on the road. Vanderbeken and Christopherson are both good players, but not really suited to play at Missouri's pace, and Garrett had trouble all night dealing with pressure (although Missouri didn't really use the same kind of full court press as is typical).

And even with that, Iowa State didn't play as poorly as the score indicated. I fully expect our return trip to Ames to be a fight.

If Cade is nailing threes, we can win. That's the key.

Iowa State is getting worn down. They literally have no bench with their starters averaging 30 plus min/game and the Cyclones 2 best players are hurt. OU definitely has a chance

Good point, although our guys might be in the same boat. Of the top 10 in minutes played in the Big 12 I think Garrett, Christopherson, Vanderbeken, Cam Clark, Cade Davis and Stephen Pledger were all there.

I loved yesterday's victory, but it's hard to find games that we're likely to win in the coming weeks.

I hate that our most winnable remaining games are the last two on our schedule. We might be so beaten down by then that we don't win those.

We played horrible at Baylor?

we dont have a chance.

Whatever. I think we have a chance against any team in the BIg 12 that doesnt put a lot of pressure on the guards. Teams like Kansas, KState and Missouri we match up poorly with. I dont think we will win, but we have a chance.

This.

If I had to bet, I would bet we wouldn't. But, I think we can. I have seen ISU a little on the tube and they aren't dominate by any stretch. They shoot the 3 well and defending the 3 will be the key I think.

We have gained some confidence over the last 2 games, we have a week to prepare and they aren't a dominant inside team. So, I give us a chance.

If we win this one, then I say we win 5 conference games this year.

Beating ISU in Ames would probably surprise me more than if we were to beat Baylor in Norman.

I agree. I think we could beat ISU in Norman, but in Ames is always tough. I dont know if we can beat Baylor even in Norman because their are just too big inside with Jones, Jones and Acy.
