I would say Biden is a below average candidate & Trump is one of the worst candidates in history. It’s not disproving your point at all, but it’s an easy decision for me.

That’s why we need to get rid of the 2 party system. I think the best candidate is the Libertarian.

I think it's disturbing that Trump won the republican primary, and I know a lot of republicans that agree, which makes it baffling that the democratic party wasn't able to mop the floor with him in the election. The fact that democrats pissed and moaned for four years without actually doing anything of substance (like finding a better candidate than Biden) is perhaps even more disturbing. Is that really the end-product of 4 years of planning? The day everybody has circled is finally approaching, and they're empty-handed.

That line of thinking is why I was for Biden over Sanders, Sanders wouldn’t have got the centered republicans. There’s no way Sanders would do what people are scared of, even if we do desperately need free healthcare & cheaper tuition for colleges.

I bring up things like anti semitism and no one wants to talk about it for it's just part of the norm and I'm fine with it. I bring up the idea that the federal government is at the mercy of states to invoke its laws and no one wants to discuss it and I am also fine with that. I also mention that statues and monuments are the boogeyman to some and it won't alter anything of consequence, too. I am also allowed to make comments, if I so choose, and I don't need a signed permission slip just like everyone else here. I don't need or require the adulation of others to speak my peace.

According to FBI hate crime statistics blacks have contributed to hate crime which stands at 90% above their respective population base over the past 3 years. If blacks want respect then they need to treat others with respect. This notion that they demand it but don't have to answer for their own behavior is far flung. Blacks represent 6x the Jewish population so from a political perspective it is more likely the democratic party will stand with blacks over Jewish people. Anything for power. Anything.

I learned a long time ago there are no winners in debates about politics or religion. That’s why both topics were strictly prohibited for more than a decade.

I don’t like it when I have to take sides or call out old board friends I have communicated with for twenty years or more. I hate this “job” when that happens! I have tried to just walk away and not look back a dozen times in the last three years. But that’s not who I am. Wish it was, to be perfectly honest!

Don't be too hard on yourself. We are all adults here and understand the discussions we are privy to. We all have our own idiosyncrasies (I have one of them) but in the end most of this is playful banter. But a lot of it is not. I get there are different viewpoints, and that no one is really paying attention to any viewpoint other than their own. Also, no one has changed their views based on anything they have read here. People can change their viewpoints, but it's usually based on WHAT THEY EXPERIENCE PERSONALLY. I understand all of that...but can't figure out why a bunch of grown-ups who actually root for the same college team can be so downright mean and disrespectful to each other. It's actually quite sad.

I really, really like most of Trump's policy. I like that the economy responds to him. I like that unemployment, and AA unemployment, were at record or near record lows. I like that he was standing up to the rest of the World, asking them to pay their fair share.

I agree that his personality, the comments, the twitter, has all seemed to have gotten worse during his Presidency. I hate that. But for now at least, I'd rather deal with that and have a President that is enacting the change I personally want to see, rather than having a puppet like Biden that might act more Presidential, but that is also going to enact change that I don't agree with.

I will almost always vote policy over all else. If we ever get two candidates again that are more central, policy-wise, then maybe I'd start looking at other factors. But right now the policy is so far apart, so different, that I have to vote policy. And that is true of most people. It's why we need the parties to stop moving farther left and right, and both to start moving back to the middle.
