Capel needs to rip the refs new ones in the press conference

I wonder how many times a guard gets a charge call against a power forward within 3-4 feet of the rim? I am guessing not much...

If Justin Mason was defending Tiny Gallon within 3-4 feet of the rim and Gallon made a move to lay-up on him and Mason went flying across the floor, I would be angry if they called a charge.

I am not saying it was not indeed a charge, but I am saying that guards don't (and probably shouldn't) get those calls so close the rim.
I don't totally disagree.

Now, did he walk?

Capel did not mention the refs in the postgame. Called out the fans though

Stop being wrong about the basketball stuff, and I'll agree with you. :clap

Do you disagree with this statement I made earlier?

When is the conference going to take a stand against his BS? That is absolutely ridiculous. If you want to say it's a no call, fine (even though that would be the wrong call). But to show up a player like that is completely unacceptable. You're not bigger than the game.

Did they even show what he did on television? I heard the announcers, but did they ever show it?

You act like he does this all game, every game. Yes, I agree that if he did what the announcers said he did, that is bad. But it's just ONE time. We don't know what he said to Tony, he might have been pointing to him asking if he COULD get up. Who knows.

What fans? (facetious??)

Yep. Basically said "You find out who's really with you in times like this. A lot of fans probably aren't with us right now, and that's ok. We're going to keep fighting".

It's one time???? Have you WATCHED Hightower call games before????

What drew this answer?

he better appreciate the ones who are still with them. the ones who will be showing up at 11am saturday to start hammering the nails into this coffin we call the 2010 season.

That is nuts. We gave this game away by taking bad shots, and turning the ball over at bad times. Oh, and not being able to defend anybody. The only bad call I remember during that "section of game" was the no call charge that Tony drew. You want to be mad at somebody, be mad at Tiny. Just one possession, but we get a stop, and he reaches like a little guard for a rebound. UT takes it from him, then they throw the oop right over top of Tiny. He barely got off the ground. 2 points, all b/c Tiny went weakly after a rebound. Things snowballed from there.

This.

I saw some bad calls tonight and most seemed to go against us, but we didn't deserve to win after our play on defense and our lack of rebounding skills. I've watched Cade Davis and Tony Crocker lead us in rebounding in some games this year, and that is embarrassing. The bigs should be rebounding but the bigs don't want to rebound and would prefer to not play defense.

I'm not saying he was, because I didn't hear the entire statement, but now's not the time to be calling out the fans, if that's what Coach Capel was doing. This has not been a scrappy, hardnosed, savvy team that's suffered some bad breaks -- it's been, with a few exceptions, a spoiled, me-first, rule-breaking, lousy-defense, poor-attitude bunch.

Get them to play hard, first, and then smart, and many, if not most, of the fans will be right there with you, no matter the win-loss record. But the fans this season get a free pass, as far I'm concerned. The product on the floor has been so poor, the fans are the last thing Coach should be thinking about.

Seems to me our guys have played very hard, especially the last couple of weeks. Playing "smart" comes with experience and age. Did you honestly think at the beginning of the year that our starting lineup consisting of 3 freshman were going to play like seniors in the second best bball conference?
