What will it be say 10 years from now? Will people remember the elite 8 more or the 3 putrid seasons?

I can only speak for myself, but I'll remember him for the 3 terrible seasons, and they way he sucked the life right out of the OU basketball program.

That being buddies with your coach doesn't work.

Depends on where we are 10 years from now. If we are still in the gutter and are basically where Baylor or A&M were in the 90s we'll be talking about how he was the start of the downfall.

If we have success are a regular March fixture again which all OU fans should expect he'll be remembered as the guy that coached Blake Griffin.

Not sure how his first year sucked the life out of the OU basketball program since he followed it with 4 NCAA tourney wins....can definitely see the argument about the last 2 seasons

I like Cape, I really do. IMO his legacy will be that of a poor evaluator of talent/character which translated into piss-poor basketball on the floor. I really hope he becomes successful in the future.

Took OU to an Elite 8 and coached the best player to ever play at the University of Oklahoma...

If we have success coaches are remembered for the good times.

Billy Tubbs had a bad last few years, but nobody remembers that. Everyone remembers him for the run and gun, scoring 100 points a game.

Kelvin's remembered more for winning than phone calls for most fans.

Capel will be remembered more for his success when we get a coach that's a winner. Granted it'll just be as Blake Griffin's coach but still he'll be remembered more for that.

Who did they play in the Final Four??

I caught the Elite 8 game but missed that one.

Ok, thanks for editing. You had me worried there for a second.

Capel's legacy will be made by what OUHoops posters think of him.

Since I like to keep it positive, I'm always going to remember Coach Capel as the one who was able to finally beat the teams in the NCAA Tournament he was supposed to beat. 4-0 against lower seeds was a blessing...just wished that he got us there a bit more often.

I will remember Jeff as a coach who coached VCU to 5th place in the Colonial Conference his last year and Joe C thought he was OU good.

I hope we hire a coach who has a few skins this time instead of going on the cheap.

Buzz Williams finished 9th this year and missed the tourney. Is that an upgrade worth a $3 million buyout?

Kelvin was only 4th in the PAC 10 his last year at Washington State. Was never higher than 5th in his first 6 years there. He ended up okay.
