He's not the best at making predictions (Eaton best PG in the country, Dork best 6th man in the country etc...) but I thought it was nice of him to say this in the postgame press conference today:

Oklahoma State Head Coach Travis Ford
Opening comment:
“Congratulate Jeff (Capel) and his team; I thought they played with a lot of pride. I thought they played with a lot of fortitude today. Congratulations to Cade Davis; he’s a winner. I’ve told a lot of pro scouts lately about that kid. Somebody needs him on their team. He’s a winner; he could help somebody in the NBA. They played very hard. We talked to our team in the last couple of days about staying positive.

It's too bad Cade didn't redshirt because he's hitting his stride right now. I think he can get even better, but maybe I'm wrong.

But Cade wouldn't even start for any other Big 12 team.

Cade really did come on the last 2 years. Basketball fortunes can change in a heartbeat.Maybe next year Capel can get it together.

It was good to see both Cade and Crock develop so well over their careers. I am hoping to see Cam Clark show that kind of improvement of the course of his (and I feel like he is starting from a higher level than the other two guys).

This is where we disagree. Cade improved a lot, but I didn't see that improvement for crocker. He had a bad year last year and it proved to me that when we needed him to step up he couldn't do it. Cade, OTOH, stepped up and took over and carried us a number of times this year.

I think crocker was the same as a frosh as when he was a sr. Very little improvement.

Cade is everything you want in a player/teammate. Always 110%. He never seems to run out of gas.

I wish the Griffin era would've happened now instead of a few years back. Cade deserves to play with the best and compete for big things.

It sickens me when I think about the douchebags he had to team up with last year as he gave everything he had to his team.

Good luck to you, Cade. I'll be pulling for you wherever you end up.

I agree with this.

Nobody said you did, guilty conscious?

No...certainly not guilty conscious. I am conscious, obviously if I'm typing, though some would probably debate that. I have been unconscious a few times in basketball games as in shooting the rock but that was back in the day. I have never been guilty conscious.

Surely you meant conscience?

After today's game, Cade has 974 career points. It would be nice if he could have a huge game next week to get over 1,000. Unlikely, but possible.

Crocker couldn't defend on the ball, couldn't rebound, couldn't hit the three, couldn't drive and was awful dribbling the basketball (especially in traffic) as a freshman.

As a sophomore, he really worked on his range and consistency with his jumper and became a better on the ball defender.

As a junior, his dribbling really improved and he got even better from deep (man I loved that game against the 'Cuse)

As a senior, he became a really good rebounder and really improved his ability to drive the basketball.

What hurt Crock was that he never was very good at away from the ball defense, helpside defense, and rotations. The mental part of the game got to him as well.

I think Crock's development over four years was pretty remarkable and a testament to how hard he worked as a player and to the coaching staff. His shooting as a freshman left a lot to be desired and was only overshadowed by the fact that everytime he tried to dribble the basketball it would end up out of bounds or in the other team's hands!

I will always remember Cade for his high-arching NBA threes that were rarely good looks. Much like his 4 attempts for today.

Snarkiness aside, I was happy for Cade when he got his dunk today. I know that was huge for him on Senior Day.

Dr. Bigtime, setting stuff straight! Nice post.

Crock had so much potential. There were so many times that I waited, and waited, and waited for him to really make a huge impact. I guess it was the mental part, as you said.

Yeah, I use my iPad with this board and sometimes the autocomplete causes some issues. Like I said, the comment wasn't pointed at you, I know you support Cade.

kind of shocking to hear someone say that. honestly, i don't know where he'd fit in the nba. he'd have to become a better 3 point shooter to play the 3. but his overall game, with his vastly improving mid-range game, will definitely have him playing a long-time overseas if that's what he chooses to do. it's similar to taylor's situation, but cade's handles and finishing ability are so much better.

Agreed.

If Ryan freaking Wright can average 17 PPG and 10 RPG in some low level Euro league, than surely Cade can have a solid career somewhere over in Europe. He said in that video interview on soonersports.com that he wants to play overseas.
