Not sure if this has ever been posted and apologize if it has but Lon is on a BTN show called "a taste of coaching" with Seth Davis. Other coaches in the round table (so to speak since the show is actually filmed in a restaurant from what little I've seen of it) include Scott drew, mike brey from the Domers and Fran mccaffrey of Iowa
Casual atmosphere where coaching tactics, recruiting and things like that are brought up for discussion..haven't seen much of it but plan on watching it..

Since some posters on the board don't get BTN, how about giving us a recap of what Coach Kruger has to say, as well as any other information you think might be of interest? Thanks!

Yeah sorry about that Ada...I forget about the fact that I live in big 10 country (Pennsylvania)...that some people don't have access to it.
Casual atmosphere in a restaurant (waitress shown on camera serving them food) the main topics covered in the first episode were recruiting, transfers and the fifth year transfer rule, social medias impact and the state of refereeing.
Mccafferey seemed to take the lead during the conversation but wasn't domineering about it.
Coach Kruger mentioned he has a Twitter and Facebook but in his words is "on the fringe" of social media and isn't active on it everyday
Kruger mentioned in relation to recruiting how assistant coaches would rent apartments in places like New York back in a day to recruit certain players and see maybe 30 games a year of a player they were trying to get
Lon mentioned how back in a day there weren't nearly as many transfers as there are nowadays and that his son Kevin was the very first 5th year graduate transfer
He said he couldn't imagine 20 years ago tweeting stuff at halftime at a game(who could?)
Nothing earth shattering during the first episode..again mccafferey seemed to dominate the conversation not in a malicious or egotistical sort of way but just seemed to take the lead on questions that Seth posed. The most passionate responses came from the social media aspect and how the coaches were in agreement that it's much harder on kids nowadays when they have a bad game then it's ever been and that some things that are tweeted out or texted to kids are despicable
Shows are also on the BTN2go app (free) run a little over 20 minutes in length
