Wow. Does he have ties there? That seems like a step down -- when was the last time UMASS was relevant?? They must be able to pay him more than the Bonnies.

Disregard for now. It hasn't happened just yet. UMASS is apparently offering close to $2M and now it's on STB to match or come close or for Schmidt to simply decide on where he'd rater coach.

But Schmidt was born/raised in Mass.
