I just don't think Oklahomans treated either much differently...fans around here, generally speaking, leave celebs alone for the most part.

yea i recall this story vividly. it just further illustrates his lack of understand (and maybe desire to) of OU, the program, culture, state and region.

i think Oklahomans (and Texans...and Kansans, etc.) are incredibly down-to-earth people. but the funny thing is that everyone i know from OU had some story about a former or current OU star. either from their childhood, playing against them in HS, class, whatever.

for homegrown boys like BG and Sam, i think the attitude is even moreso.

we're nowhere near as densely populated as much of the east coast...we are spread-out and in that vastness there are a lot of people who simply dont care about such things.
