I have read many of boards on this site and never once made a comment. But before we decide to Dog a player/Snatch a players Scholarship and Disrespect their ability- know that player first.

You guys Dog Nick Thompson out- Does anyone know if something is going on in his life. Maybe someone needs to know him before making hateful comments. You Cheered when he came and you can Cheer him on to play
by giving him a Chance on the floor again and maybe finding out a thing or two about his problems.

You guys Dog Kyle Hardrick out- Does anyone know if something is going on in his life. Maybe if some of you knew that his father has Terminal Cancer. His Aunt passed away. His Roommate committed Suicide. He sat out this Semester to Focus on his so called " Grades ". Or maybe it was because of the Surgery he had 3 weeks ago from the injury he sustained to the knee like say 1 1/2 years ago and was not told about the damage until January???? Maybe if all that was going on in my life in 1 year maybe I would need to Focus on the so called "Grades" too!

Maybe it is was time for Kruger and Company to take over the Ship. Maybe it is time for people to start believing in the University of Oklahoma players before we Dog them out! These Players were recruited for a reason and that reason was to be a SOONER!!!!

Fbone, maybe if you could get someone to edit your posts. They're kind of hard to follow...

I was thinking the same thing.

mebbe it's numerical? like every 3rd word or something? idk

Doggin a Poster before you know a Poster

Not cool. Maybe fbone just had surgery for an old injury, and it causes him to randomly capitalize Words. Ever think Of that?

no...I pretty much figured he was an idiot.

Mods, please delete this thread and repost on Monday with the above mentioned edits. Thanks in advance.

Welome to the board fbone.

Good to have you here, fbone. All of us should keep stuff like that in mind when we're discussing players.

Didn't Big ABD send out some pm's on that?

The simple truth is, whether there's a sad back story or not, neither kid contributes much during the time that matters the most, a game. I don't think I've read anyone bashing either kid's character or family or anything off-the-court related. On the court which, again, matters the most, both of these guys should be replaced by more talented, contributing players. When you get such a limited amount of scholarships, how can you keep kids on scholarship that are basically practice players? Kruger will let Thompson finish it out because he's a Senior but Hardrick needs to be put on some other form of financial assistance if he's allowed to stick around. Push the kid to get his degree, it comes in handy, but I wouldn't use a scholarship on him. That's harsh, oh well, flame on.

Is this Hardrick or someone close to his camp? That's an awful lot to know as an outsider.

welcome to the board fbone.

I wouldn't put too much stock into what us message board fans say or think. :D

That's pretty awful stuff regarding Hardrick if true. I wish he and his family the best.

It is important for all of us to remember that there are often circumstances going on in student athletes' lives that run a lot deeper than playing a game.

As for Thompson, this may be just the fresh start he needs to have a chance to show why Utah and New Mexico were after him after the JUCO nationals. I hope he uses this start to commit himself to playing defense and hustling. That would be a great start...

My fried Dyner is also going thru a very traumatic time in his life

fbone, I completely understand your frustration. However, you have to understand that lately, the folks on this board are more interested in rumors and gossip than in facts.

If there are any posters that are attacking players personally then they shouldnt be taken seriously anyway...

As for their game...every player is available to be scrutinized...

Hardrick has none, that is why he doesnt play...there hasnt been one shred of proof to me that he can play...Thompson IMO has skills, but doesnt assert himself on the defensive end and is timid on the offensive end, that is why he doesnt play...

I know all players have off the court issues to some point and i always respect every player for the time they put in both on and off the court...but that doesnt change if a player can play at this level or not...

I commend you for defending your friends, i have had similiar times in my life where i have done the same...but ultimately it just comes down to what players do on the court...If Blake had these types of issues the fanbase would be supportive, in the case of these two guys they arent...thats life and that is why i really believe sports is the greatest avenue to success in business and life...gotta have thick skin...

And maybe the reason why he did not play was due to the injury of the knee. And yes maybe if he was Blake he would of had the surgery 1 1/2 years ago when they knew he was unable to play due to the knee damage. And l am pretty sure they would of informed Blake of the problem/surgery then. You can only do so much when your knee is not letting you perform on the court.

Not defending players but give the players a chance before you know the facts.

I know all the facts. I am Hal 9000.

You SOund As thouGh iT is pErsonal? i ThinK peoPle jusT QuesTion hiM geTTIng shcolArShip to OU.

I agree that sometimes things do get a little too personal, but the crux of the matter is should he be at D1 level school like OU? Secondly, this is the part that I have always struggled with, how should a coach get rid of a player that is never going to play assuming that he always shows up for practice, works hard, and makes his grades? It is interesting dilemma that is somewhat questionable on whether it is ethically right or wrong, but in the same sense the coach is there to do many things and unfortunately one of them is to win. Would having Nick Thompson/Kyle Hardrick in practice help with the development of Osby, Clark, or Pledger (in order to make them better players thus helping us win) or would having a JHenry and JRichardson help? Because right now we cannot get both and get a PG....
