This kid is a far better athlete than Hardrick, Willis, Pledger, and Fitzgerald combined. Kid moves well, has quick feet, gets off his feet pretty fast, is long, has a nice vertical, and is versatyle enough to play two positions. The few things I observed about his game is he has a slow release from three point distance, but a rather quick release closer to the basket. In the paint, he makes his move quickly towards the basket, with just one dribble at the most. He has a really, really, nice touch. He's going to contest more shots than Fitzgerald. I believe he's going to be a nice player.

I am thrilled to have him! I am ready for a kid like this. Refreshing.

I agree DM...

Look around the college basketball landscape...how many guys do you see that are just wow'ing you anyway...

He is athletic and hopefully will be a good addition to the Sooners and can contribute some good minutes, but much like Cade i dont expect anything consistent or meaningful until his Sophomore of Junior years...although he will probably be thrown in the mix much earlier out of necessity...

Seriously?
He's more athletic than half the team combined?
Sounds like a super hero

Yeah, but isn't he white? How does that work?

do you know what his vertical is?

He got a lot of exercise digging when making the movie "Holes"

if you have all of his stats...height, vertical, speed...ect could you post it please? I am curious how he stacks up...I am a big believer in stats...I think you need atleast compareable stats to most D1 players...then your basketball IQ or you being a crazy athlete can make you a really good player....but you have to have atleast compareable stats

his video says... 6'6" 215 and he has a 4.1gpa and a 35" verticle... i think he averaged about 19 and 9 this year...

so 6'6 and a 35" vertical I would say is def on par with D1 athletics...exp. since he will be playing mostly outside

I wounder how well he moves laterally...with his height he might be able to help us on defense immediately.

I think with capel signing this kid, that means he is confident in his other recruits...I truly do not beieve neal will help much next year...and if capel doesnt turn things around he may not be around much longer...I think he knows this so he has to be confident in getting his other recruits.

He is a marginal D1 athlete but I think he can play at that level because he can score. Think David Little with a little more meat on his bones. Everyone says he is a great kid with high character so that alone is worth an offer considering where the program is.

Re: being ranked. If he didn't play AAU ball it's hard to get ranked, is that right? Not concerned about rankings. I've seen posts that say that, since we are in desperation mode, anybody we sign must be second rate at best. Those same people would say, if Capel signed a hot-shot, "Oh No!! Not another one!!!" I really like what his coach said about him.

Yea I would say its pretty tough to climb the rankings if you dont play AAU ball...Its not unheard of but it def makes it tougher...
If this kid really has a 35" vertical and really is 6'6 while being able to shoot the long range three then I am sure he would have been ranked in the top 150 somewere if he played AAU ball

"Combined?"

Exaggeration doesn't help make the point. I do think he is good for OU and OU for him.

Good start to rebuilding this team, can never go wrong with a okla.kid, excellent start coach.

i dont see how this implies that he is confident with other recruits? how does this relate to our pg or c recruits? i dont see any correlation personally, but i could be wrong.

I think it does...I think it is fair to say that neal is not going to come in immediately and help out alot...he is a future kid
Capel has no certain future with the way this year has gone down....so one would think that he would want to use every last scholorship he has on kids that can come in and help immediately, hoping 60% of them pan out so he can have a decent year...

If he is planning for the future then I think that means he believes he has a kid like ndiaye or jones wrapped up...a kid that can come in and immediately change the way we either play on offense or defense
It could be a combination of someone like ndiaye and WW coming back

Devil's Advocate: or he knows that there are not many impact guys out there and is trying to lock up a local kid while he has the chance.
