DUKE Starting PG to Transfer

Even you must have been blushing in shame as you composed that post.

Just a little.

I really do like Kruger. And he is recruiting better. I really hope we get Young. Like Coach says, he's a program changer.

We already talked about Thornton on him most likely not even interested.

As for Capel, It took him 3 years to get to the Elite 8 off of his recruiting and it took LK 5 years to get pass the sweet 16 so I think I can compare the 2 in regards of recruiting.

Wow, since you went there what did caple do in year four? 0-18
Year 5 - 14-18

Lon year 4 - sweet 16
Year 5 - final four

So much for all that recruiting since his third year would mean he still had simpson players on campus, including Blake's older brother Sampson left for him. Year four would be both guys having their own full rosters. Year 5 the same.

If Thornton did leave due to lack of playing time, or because he was "recruited" over, whats the deference between him and austin grandstaff? why you see people like campebest say no thanks, what makes Thornton a bad guy?

Austin left bc he had a kid and wanted to be closer to home to see his little boy grow up. But I see your point.

I dont see Thorton as a bad guy, Id rahter take the risk of increasing our chances for Young and then going to plan B and C if we have to. There are plans in place.

Isn't this all moot at this point? Has the guy even expressed an interest in us?

Thornton is not a plan B. He would be an incoming freshman this coming year had Coach K not persuaded him to graduate early. The kid held his own and is under age. With redshirt year, he will most likely be just as dominant as Young. The number one PG in a class is not a plan B. :facepalm

I'm sure Kruger is not even recruiting him and not b/c of Young but b/c he's just not just like all the other top recruits Kruger isn't going after.

Think what you want!

You mean like Young and Porter?

No. He's from California and has expressed an interest in being closer to home. He's not coming to OU and, unfortunately for bgrch, it's not because Kruger's a slacker.

If you read other post, we've already said this.

And if you noticed, I didn't start this thread. Only commented on it.

Explain the "no thanks" and it's due to Young. Grandstaff is different player, different position, different role.

Sounds to me like the uncle got in the kid's head about how he was being used, or not used, and that is the biggest reason he is leaving.

Exactly, this was a Thornton decision.

Side note: you hear some adults label this generation of players as "entitled" and/or "spoiled", but then you have their uncle or centers of influence whining on a social media site. Acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

okay, at 1st I thought you were saying he had some type of character issues...

Exactly...remember Calvin Newell transferred out because he wanted to be closer to home but ended up in Florida. He was from Philly. I don't think UCF is closer to Philly than OU and if so it's not by much. :ez-laugh:

Per Mapquest UCF is 400 miles and 6.5 hours closer by car than is OU.

KU is visiting Thornton. Let's hope he goes to KU and slides in for the taking of Young!
