Egor Koulechov Visiting

You might think about closing the thread about Christian James transferring. Or at least changing the title to be something else. As of now, it doesn't appear he is transferring so it seems it could be hurtful to the kid or his family if they come here. JMO. :lon

Good advice, BOB! I hope CJ stays and proves how good he can be next season.

Can he sign immediately or does he have to wait until Wednesday?

I don't think a grad transfer signs anything. He just commits but nothing is binding until he attends his first summer school class.

That is my understanding as well.

We know from experience with U of H, when TaShawn Thomas was a graduate transfer, the other school can delay the process by refusing to release the player. That eventually worked out in TaShawn's case, of course, but I don't believe we'll have a similar problem with Rice should Egor pick OU.

tashawn wasn't a grad transfer .. he didn't get cleared by the ncaa until sept

Thanks, Boulder. Since he was eligible to play immediately, I thought he was a grad transfer. That may explain why U of H drug their feet in giving him a release. As I recall, Kelvin was instrumental in making it happen.

its funny I just looked it up again he actually didn't get his waiver approved until nov just before the start of the season ..

About 17 hours before the regular season opener, as I recall.

It's clear you and Boulder have better memories than me. I had completely forgotten about the "11th hour" decision that allowed TaShawn to play in the season opener. Assuming my aging memory is still working just a little, he wasn't able to play in the exhibition games.

Back to Egor Koulechov, there doesn't appear to be any obstacles in the way if our coaches are successful in convincing him to pick OU this weekend. Anyone know when he is due on campus?

I wonder if it's OK that he's my friend on twitter?

Anybody that can put the ball in the basket consistently should be a take....way to many long stretches last year when they could not make a FG

I have chosen to smoke weed instead of taking this endless supply of addictive pain pills from the VA. But that's cool. You guys judge all you want.

Give me some. :D

This team next year looks great as it is... if we land a D1 guy of this caliber I'm going to celebrate by getting drunk on a six pack of legal beer!

no matter what it should be fun ball next year!!

Saw in the on-line Albuquerque Journal that UNM "grad transfer" Elijah Brown has named some schools, most notably Oregon and Iowa State. Going from memory, I think he also listed Gonzaga and St. Mary's of California.

This prospect flew in from Houston around noon this morning, the chemistry with the coach was instant as I saw them walk through the baggage claim.

Liked what I saw as they walked along side me through the airport

Good stuff, JD!

Can you elaborate on what you saw? Was former Rice and current OU assistant, Hartman, the coach who met Egor at the airport? Was there more than one member of the group there to meet him?

I like the sounds of that! Sign him up

...

@GoodmanESPN: Rice transfer Egor Koulechov (18.2 ppg) told ESPN he will visit Florida next weekend. Visited Oklahoma this weekend.

:facepalm I was hoping OU would be his last and only visit.
