Could be Todd Mayo, OJ Mayo's brother. He apparently committed to Marquette last week. Wouldn't be surprised to see him follow Buzz here.

Capel was actually in on him last year and he was considering a visit here before he decided to go the prep school route.

Buzz/Marquette are also in the final seven for Jeremy Jones, the juco guard from Kansas Capel was making a late run at.

This is an example of what I meant when I said that our new coach may bring players with him we didn't expect to get before. Now, all we have to do is hope Buzz is OU's guy and he can convince Mayo and Jones to join him.

Another question for WJ...Buzz recruited T.J. Taylor pretty heavily. Any chance he comes back to OU if we get Buzz? Can T.J. sign again this spring or does he have to spend a year at Paris JC now?

Capel didn't and I would argue that it cost us the title. Imagine the 2009 team with Maynor at the point.

I think it would have gone over like a fart in church if our "discount" mid major coach brought a 2-3 star freshman from his mid major school and used one year of a scholarship for him to transfer. We would have thought he could recruit better point guards for Big 12 play. We'd be wrong, but that's not new.

I'd guess a lot of coaches would wait until his replacement was hired, then go from there. I know that's how Anderson handled the players he left behind at UAB (brought Tiller along with him only after Mike Davis didn't want him).

On the other hand, I doubt Calipari hesitated for a second in taking recruits from Memphis to Kentucky.

With Mayo not having signed, though, my guess is there would be little keeping him at Marquette. If it's the coaches he liked most (and it appears that's the case), then he'd probably open things up on his own without Buzz having to do or say anything.

Buzz has recruited a lot of players that we have lately. Cameron Clark and TJ Taylor both chose Capel/OU over Buzz/Marquette. I'm not sure that getting Buzz helps us with either kid.

I dont want Mayo either. I would if he weren't related to OJ.

2012 Jerami Grant is also being recruited by OU and Marquette. He is Harvey's son. Obviously I would love to get him.
