Absolutely love that guy. He reminds me of a smaller version of Rocky Calmus, the way he flies around seeking contact.just wanted to add heineke is a beast. if the whole team played as hard as he does...we'd probly be undefeated.
Almost home. Gonna have a cigar and Angel's Envy on the patio and watch the podcast. Interested to hear their takes. For those citing Teddy and Gabe during the losses. Quote some of the positives today.
lots of positives....especially on defense which surprised me.Almost home. Gonna have a cigar and Angel's Envy on the patio and watch the podcast. Interested to hear their takes.
I suspect their analysis doesn't get plagiarized here the way it does after a loss. For those citing Teddy and Gabe during the losses. Quote some of the positives today.
Have you done the angels envy tour at their Louisville distillery? It’s really cool and a bourbon tasting at the end.Almost home. Gonna have a cigar and Angel's Envy on the patio and watch the podcast. Interested to hear their takes.
How many TD drives??The first half was rough, but I don't see how you can complain about last night given we ended on 5 straight scoring drives if not for turnovers. And both of those turnovers, even if one was a poor decision by the QB, should have been negated by penalty. Neither were playcalling issues. We moved the ball REALLY well in the second half given that we weren't more talented.
We ran 32 times and passed 32 times. X got 16 of 17 carries (despite the fumble), so we fed him plenty. Cranking his carries up to 32 would not double his yardage.
Outside of our front 4 on defense, we rarely have a dramatic advantage talent-wise over our opponents with this brutal schedule, including last night. We are often at a significant talent deficit for positions including TE and WR.

Arbuckle's playcalling has nothing to do with X getting punched in the face and then fumbling. How many TD drives??
Not m
Our safeties, our lb as a whole, even corners are up there.
Selling our talent short…. Front 4 only doesn’t get you a top 10 def.
We have young talent at that. A huge chance to return a ton!
Our secondary is not above average in the SEC. When it comes to WR/CB matchups, we're losing ground to almost every team, even teams toward the bottom like Auburn.
And yes, elite pass rush can absolutely save a secondary. When Aguilar had time to throw early, he cut through the secondary like butter. It wasn't until we got pressure that he struggled.
It's on my bucket list for sure.Have you done the angels envy tour at their Louisville distillery? It’s really cool and a bourbon tasting at the end.
Bama doesn't have a good defense per se.....at least by their standards. They give up 4.5 yards per rush......same as Ole Miss. Tennessee ( even after our game) only gives up 3.8 yards per rush. Bama can be run on. Their pass defense is better than Ole Miss and Tennessee though. They have some strange box scores and metrics that don't really line up with their record and ranking, but they've found ways to win. They are a good team no doubt and their passing offense is very good, but would you believe we are actually ahead of them in S&P+ rankings? I have a little hope.No doubt, they're tough. Best defense we'll face all year...and maybe the best offense as well. And I'm not predicting a win with mediocre QB play like I did last night. Tennessee might actually be the worst defense we face all year, though they'd be top 2 or 3 in almost any year of Riley's Big 12 tenure.
All I'm saying is that the injury excuse is over. No excuses from a coaching perspective either, as we have 2 weeks to prepare. They have a better defense than Texas, but I don't expect we'll see remotely as bad of a performance.

And if we played out the end of the game better, UT would not have scored as much or had as many yards. After interception, they got 10 points and 100 yards.UT has great receivers and a good QB/scheme. You can't zero in on one guy.
They average 43 ppg, over 500 ypg, and nearly 7 ypp.
We gave up 27 pts, 456 yards, and 5.7 ypp.
They had 12 drives. A little over 2 points per drive.
I think the numbers look bad because once again we had issues getting off the field on 3rd downs. They had a lot of drives and a lot of plays.
For one of the best offenses in the country, I think we did a decent job.
I think Mateer looked more like pre injury mateer in the second half ..BV has built a very good team in pretty much all facets except the QB. It’s incredible what he’s done with the defense. The guys are CLEARLY bought in to what he is selling. He somehow found the best kicker, I think, in program history. Special teams, overall, has been solid. He is a good quarterback away from a playoff birth this year. I hope he sees that and goes and gets a guy from the portal to compete with Mateer. I think Mateer is a very easy guy to root for, but if BV is serious about winning championships then he’s gotta atleast try to make a change in the offseason.
and we held them to 17 points until the last 2 min of the game ..UT has great receivers and a good QB/scheme. You can't zero in on one guy.
