Football question

If you ever feel like joining the conversation instead of fumbling over weak personal attacks that aren't landing, I would love for you to explain to us what defensive position groups were clearly worse than CB. Your first compliment of the guy came after he left, per usual.

Still waiting @WichitaSooner

what's going on with all the sudden commits? was there a recruiting event or what?

Meh. Hes a poon and not a hard worker. Hell be great at a company retreat's sporting events
We'll see. I have never attended a practice or workout so all we have to go on is what the staff feeds the media. Regardless, if he ends up being a good or even decent NFL back, it will be pretty embarrassing that he didn't see the field for us.

Nah. It will be an embarrassment for himself. Unplayable. Prolly uncoachable too.

Sorry but the absolute lack of effort he gave on the plays he got was ridiculous. He literally allowed a WR to get blown up on one due to his "Ole!" move. He just moved out of the defenders path to allow the hit. He wanted nothing to do with the contact.
Guy is a pampered cuck.
Good riddance to him and I wish him zero success. He fleeced OU. Simple as that.

I know judge balkman. I was supposed to review a big order of his once as a favor, I didn't get around to it and then it had a big math mistake in it lol

I predict he grants the same TRO stuff that all of the other Judges are doing. Heinecke back to OU imo
the NCAA is winning more then half of these cases ..

Google spits that out, but I saw really only one case in that regard and it was a class action I guess. plus supposedly a lot of their "wins" were in fed court, not state (like here). Plus, they may technically "win" but if the TRO/TI holds until the season is over, that is a fake win.

I'm unconvinced that the ncaa is stacking up a ton of wins, unless you can show me something beyond my quick googling

i don't think they have lost a case like this one anywhere .. unless he has some evidence of an injury in 2021 .. he is just asking for a 6th year ..

and that is pretty unprecedented ..

Except for the Trinidad Chambliss case currently (no juco exception), which is for a 6th year of eligibility and Pavia's which was for a 6th year (juco). QB Chandler Morris is seeking a 7th year now. Montana linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu has been granted a 9th season of college football in 2026

Juco vs. playing lacrosse is seen by some on here as vastly different, I do not follow that logic at all.

Isn't the NCAA fighting the Chambliss ruling?

Maybe OU is playing this smart and saying hey, if we get the injunction ruling this late (before the draft, one week), the NCAA cannot challenge that in good faith because he'll have missed the draft.

They are supposed to rule on Chambliss before the draft, I believe. The NCAA would not have the chance to challenge on Owen before the draft. Just a thought.

Trying to get the Mateer discussion to this thread rather than the coaching carousel thread (not sure how it got sucked into that discussion) -- I am always skeptical of the numbers because they aren't public and they are always rumors. Sure, people can ballpark it, but no one really knows, unless it is a very rare situation where the player and school both publicly disclose it (and I am not aware of any cases like that). I'm not sure why some people who question the numbers regarding our basketball NIL are so quick to think they know what Mateer makes.

In any event, he better play a hell of a lot better next season, whether he is making $5 or $5M.
