For better or worse - 2011-12

Name something that you think OU will be better at this year as compared to last season. Name something that you think OU will be worse at this year as compared to last year on the hardwood.

Better:

Getting good looks in the halfcourt

Worse:

I can't think of anything...

Better:
Solid man defense, ie, less wide open shots for the opposition.

Worse:
I think we might be worse in transition this year. By necessity/design.

Better: Talent in better spots to succeed on the floor.
Example: Newell in a spot that fits him, Neal more involved, Fitz back to power forward, etc.

Worse: Can't think of anything.

Defense should/will be much improved. Listening to LK at coaches clinic at the end of July. He wants our players not allowing the offensive guy going where they want to go. (which should be the case no matter who is coaching but I think it's a main objective for him with this team)

What did you think of him at that clinic, bball? I was hoping to go but had something come up.

I really hope OU is better at playing team basketball and that this will be demonstrated with better defense, rebounding and half court sets. Last year the team defense and rebounding was horrible.

Individually, I hope that Osby or Cam Clark can be a player that gets his shot (and makes) when OU needs points. I would also like to see Steven Pledger and Fitzgerald improve offensively.

I think ABD is correct. We should be better everywhere, and not worse anywhere. Now, the question is how much better or different will we be. A lot or just a little. This and the effectiveness of the new guys will determine the season. We wouldn't be worse, if we didn't have Osby, Grooms and Arent. If any one or all of these guys is good enough to start and playing winning basketball, then it can only mean we will be better than last year.

If need be, we can play Blair, (Pledger, Cam, or Newell) Fitz and CJ or Neal. This team would be as good as last years team, maybe better due to experiance. The new guys could only help this team.

Better: Defense and rebounding are two things that come immediately to mind. It certainly does not end there.

Worse: Really? Can it get any worse?

I guys we might not have a guy play with as much heart as Cade this year so that may be a "worse" category though I do think on the whole that this group will really compete on both ends like last year's squad (hopefully with some added better coaching).
