Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the clock reset on a kick ball?

Yes, crowd and announcers were clueless.

I always have my sound down and radio on....But I was unable toward the end of the game....It amazes how bad the TV crew was....35 seconds left...Buddy scores and is fouled....They start show random shots of the OU bench....You hear a whistle and then Buddy shoots technical shots...TV crew keeps talking and no mention on what happened....

I think it was a tech on D Williams

did he shove an OU player...cuss a ref....Give the OU coaches the finger..35 seconds left and a technical is called....might want to show a replay of what happened...The TV crew just kept talking...I always have the radio sound up and TV down....This is the reason why

Are you sure? I thought the shot clock is always reset after a kicked ball.

The NBA and NCAA rules regarding a kicked ball are identical with the exception of the location of the throw-in after a violation and the time on the shot clock. In the NCAA, the throw-in will always occur at the point on the sidelines nearest to where the violation occurred. The shot clock is not reset if the ball is intentionally kicked with 15 or more seconds on the shot clock. Otherwise, the shot clock is reset to 15 seconds.

The 10 second count was changed this year. It used to be that the 10 seconds started over at any stoppage (e.g. teams would call a timeout if they were in danger of getting it across the line, and it would start over when then in-bounded it). Now you get 10 total seconds to get it across. Period.

No. It used to but they changed that rule. If there's under 15 seconds on the shot clock it resets to 15 but otherwise, it stays where it was.

The rule was changed but there are exceptions... Per the rule book: The 10-second count shall be reset on all stoppages of the game clock except when the defense causes the ball to be out of bounds, the offense retains the possession after a held ball, or there is a technical foul assessed against the offensive team.

In this case the defender kicked the ball which stopped play... so in this instance, the 10 second count would be reset. Which makes since. Why would a team get rewarded for making an illegal play.

Also, the timeout rule for the offensive team is still in play.
