It is the same offensive sets. However, players move OFF-BALL with a purpose. Filling gaps, back-cuts, a proper 5 that can pick-n-roll. Driving straight to the basket with a purpose (When I train guards, this is something I hammer into them - Dan Hayes style). Man, it is there, we just have low court IQ right now. I don't know how you fix this with the portal and 1-2 year rentals.

Motion offense is the same, regardless of 4 or 5 out. You screen, you fill space, you cut. It is pretty simple, we just suck at it this year. Seems to be more player issues for us, but I guess everything the players do we blame the coaches. So dang you Moser.

We def dont have an inside guy like jackson or krutwig. That team is also way smarter and moves much better. They prolly beat us by 20 imo

Absolutely. That puts us two over .500 in the league and improves our seed by several spots. I'd also add that we were one of two teams to lose at home to the zombie Jayhawks. Yes, we were missing Soares. They also had McCullar playing on one leg and he was a nonfactor against us. That is a game we have to win against a team that routinely got their butts handed to them outside AFH this year.

Sorry trying to get previous game stats copied and pasted proved a bit more of a challenge than I expected but the right game is posted above
and 35 mins played 10 pts made and 8 rebounds grabbed certainly is not a Non-factor against us and still is malarky and it still makes you a liar.

Great video @TEvans4Three … Also they had the same bad starts in those games. I really hope we get a shooter like that (again) and a great center. He can recruit better players here (with NIL help) but NIL free agency came along and killed building culture over time as an advantage (see Saban’s retirement reasoning).

My concern is actually that both Moser and BV will really struggle in the portal era because they’re so huge on building a culture. Unfortunately culture doesn’t mean as much as it used to

Saban actually said the same thing in as many words in testimony to Congress last week when he said, "all the things I believed in for all these years of coaching, 50 years of coaching, no longer exist in college athletics".

I also believe that is why you see Moser do well in HS recruiting (yeah, I know, on campus results are debatable) and same with BV for the most part. It sells easier to recruits and their families in HS, then coming from another program in the portal looking for a "better experience".

Where Moser hasn't done as well, and BV to some extent, is getting kids committed and staying with that culture. It's why he's missed on some portal players, as money is the key factor, and why guys leave.

There's gotta be a balance, but it seems a lot/most coaches are having a tough time finding it in college hoops.

I think this also factors into some of the questionable playing time decisions -- he/they would rather play a guy who "buys in" and "does things the right way" than go with the better athlete/player on many occasions. And even thought lots of coaches talk about culture, very few can truly build in -- Kelvin is one example. You always know what a KS team is about, and his players obviously are on board because very few leave.

Okay so here’s one. Some crazy **** happens with other bubble teams and OU ends up missing the tournament.. even after expecting to be in almost all season long.

Should Moser get another year?

I would say no (probably not surprising) but I’m curious what other people think.
