Future of Moser

Danny sprinkle >> BM. Add him to the list.

Utah friggin' state has a 7 ft big man that shoots the 3 better than McCollum, Uzan, and Oweh. Porter cant trot anything out there better than a walk on.. utah state's NIL of course is world renowned

Sprinkle’s postgame interview was awesome. Was asked about how he did this with no returning points and he said, no one cares. It doesn’t matter that we didn’t return any guys and suffered some injuries. Just get the job done.

Meanwhile, Moser and his acolytes complain about attendance and the arena and NIL and he has a pressed to talk about how many mock brackets we were in.

I doubt Utah State would have made the tournament in the Big12 and Moser probably wouldn’t have had to complain there or in the SEC. Selection bias is a thing.

You’re right, there is bias. Teams in conferences like the Big 12 have a massive advantage because they have so many built in opportunities to play good teams. All you have to do is not go 2-11 in those games and you’ll make it.

The counter argument of course is give ou 10 more non-q1 games and they have 8-10 more wins.

All you have to do is look at the track record of the committee. There is a reason so many teams from non-P5 leagues complain every year about the process. But as for Utah State, they have as many Q1 wins as we do, despite getting a lot fewer chances.

What a joke post. We have no idea how sorinkle would respond if at OU. I’m guessing he and any other coach would handle the lack of support the same way. Maybe he would win more too. But I’d be disappointed in any coach that doesn’t fight for attendance and more support.

Sprinkle fights for attendant and support by scoring more points than the other team on a regular basis.

I wonder if PM’s hand picked bracket experts have us projected to win our second round game this weekend.

So you are only allowed to drum up support if you are winning? Surely even you know how ridiculous that take is
You missed the point. Other coaches are using WINNING to drum up SUPPORT.

And historically, that's the way it's worked at OU for basketball.

And that is irrelevant to the argument. it seems like the thing PM haters bitch about the most is how he tries to increase attendance and support for bball. Somehow that’s a negative. If Sprinkle was at OU I believe he would be doing the same thing as moser even if he was winning more

So back to my point, is a coach only allowed to drum up support if they are winning?

We bitch about the fact that (a) he doesn’t win and (b) complains about stuff and acts as if he has the toughest job in America.

It's not irrelevant.

Go win some games. Build our program. Finish higher than tied for 9th/10th in the conference. THAT is a more important and better way of getting fan support. The stuff he is doing doesn't really move the needle, and it's time taken away from bettering the product he is putting on the floor. That's the point we're trying to make.

I’ll never forget the start of the 2022-2023 season. I watched this couple minutes long video showing Moser going to the frat and sorority houses trying to drum up support. I thought it was neat. Then a few days later OU lost to a no name opponent at home for the first game of the season. Pretty much sums up Moser’s tenure at OU.
