Bruce Pearl never played the game..and I've heard he's a decent coach. You don't have to play the game to be successful. There are many examples of this, especially in football and other sports.

Personal Opinion? I think you could do a lot worse. The brand of the basketball isn’t the prettiest but the toughness/discipline would be a welcomed sight.
