Sam only made two mistakes in that entire game. I saw him blaming himself but no possible way that loss is on Sam Grooms. That was the best game of his career and without his play OU isn't even in that Game.

I hope most of you are smart enough and compassionate enough to realize this. Sam is going to blame himself for this loss. He absolutely doesn't need or deserve fans to blame. If Sam Grooms plays close to that level during the remainder of the season, OU wins its final 6 ball games.

I agree, but he couldn't have possibly made his two TOs at more costly times.

I don't think very many people are going to blame Sam. He played like a beast.

Grooms played great. A couple glaring mistakes, but he played great. Where was mbaye? I thought he was NBA good. He was invisible today.

played well but second biggest reason we lost. waste of a career high game that will likely never see duplicated again and it was a loss

Without Grooms, we probably lose by 7+ points. Very good game. Wish he handn't turned it over late, but two turnovers from your pg that played 35 minutes isn't bad.

Grooms came up big today! I couldn't believe some of the shots he made. If someone had told me that he would go 9 of 11 from the field today, I would have mortgaged the farm to bet that would never happen.

Great game, Sam!!! :clap

Absolutely no one would have predicted Grooms to have an offensive outburst like that. After all of the tough times here, it was great to see him have a game like that. Yes the turnover hurt, but still proud of the kid.....

As said previously, without sam's offense and running the offense, we aren't in that game today. I thought his defense was pretty good too. Yes, he made a mistake, but hats off to him. I don't think any of us really thought we could win that game and we almost did.

His offense in the first half was the key to the whole game. He hit those wide open shots and OSU had to guard him instead of sagging off. That opened up other stuff.

Great job Sam. :clap

Denver well said. Sam played great today. He wasn't the reason we lost however he was the reason we lead the whole second half.

He played great. I think he should start instead of Cousins from here on out.

i emailed my dad the same. he's had season tix in LE4 since Dave Bliss....Grooms played great.

Sam is a tough Sooner.

I don't really care who starts. I think both will have good games going forward. I just hope LK is a little quicker in changing to Grooms when Cousins struggles. And based on Saturday, I think he will be.

Cousins may have struggled on offense, but he wasn't on defense.

Cousins is a good player with a bright future, but right now he's not the same type of player as Grooms on offense. Grooms can create gaps in the defense with his ability to drive, and he was hitting shots on Saturday.

Against a good team on the big stage on the road, Cousins, sped himself up. As a result the team sped up. That wasn't the look Kruger was going for and he got the hook.

I like Grooms and I'm happy he stepped up and played well. That is what seniors off the bench are suppose to do when their chance comes. I hope he has the opportunity to do that again. And I hope he comes up big again.

But, I doubt that there will be any lineup changes. When Cousins is playing well on both ends of the court, the team has a higher ceiling than when Grooms is playing well. I would guess that Cousins keeps getting the start and will stay in the game until or if he starts getting out of whack.

I'm with Gary on this one. There is no doubt that Sam had the best game of his career in a Sooner uniform against OSU. Thus, it's easy to forget why he lost his starting job in the first place.

I like what Kruger did on Saturday. He rewarded Grooms with more playing time by staying the course with him for 35 minutes, while Cousins only played 10. I have a feeling that we will see more of the same in the games ahead, instead of making another change to who starts at the point.

Cousins will learn from Saturday's experience and be a better player for it.

Like your post, Booger; especially the parts where you praise Sam for his play. But I'll have to correct you on one statement: One of us really did believe we could and would win that game. We should have, and we almost did. But, hey, I'll give the Cowboys their due. They hung around when they were being outplayed, then took advantage of the opportunities we gave them in the final couple of minutes.
