Ill still support OU basketball no matter who the coach is but I don't think Capel is the right person to lead the program. I hope he proves me wrong.
It's real easy for some of you to sit back and whine and moan about how bad we're going to be and that because of that, it's cut and dry...
Well, from my perspective that is absolutely wrong. I sat in the LNC and watched a team last year that was talented on paper, but absolutely sickening to watch in person. From their horrible body language in warmups, to the obvious ego issues and the selfish play... The whole thing was so bad, that I even felt horrible after wins. They absolutely sucked all the joy out of being an OU basketball fan out of me...
So, to watch this years team was nothing short of a breath of fresh air. We don't have the size, (perceived) talent, or flashiness of last years team... but you can have all that other crap... This team will be a group of guys that are happy to be at OU, will work hard, and will be a joy to cheer for... no matter how many games they lose. I will relish the chance to cheer for these guys and watch them grow and mature as players and as a team.
And at this point, that's what being an OU basketball fan means. It's us against the world right now and you can either enjoy the journey back to greatness, or sit back and whine like spoiled kids that aren't getting what you feel you are entitled to.
I've chosen my path...

I didn't see the game but looked at the box score and loved this stat:
In the first half we shot 33% from the field (10-30). Half of our FG attempts were threes, where we shot only 4-15 (27%). In the second half we shot 56% from the field (15-27) and only shot two threes the entire half. That, my friends, is a halftime coaching adjustment. And also, that is a group of players that listened to and responded to said coaching adjustment. That was something very rarely seen last year.

+1...great post!Best post in years.
For the record, Blake called Capel at halftime after watching the webcast and told him how to make halftime adjustments.I didn't see the game but looked at the box score and loved this stat:
