If KU wins the league this year, no one is ever going to win

That windmill dunk was the nail in their casket

I can’t believe the streak is over. Never would’ve bet against them.

It's not over at all. KU probably has the easiest remaining schedule, although they are two losses behind the leaders. They also aren't great, so they're probably going to lose more games, but still. There aren't any great teams in the league this year. Last year's KU, WVU, and Tech teams would mop the floor with this year's crop in the Big 12.

If I had to bet for one single team, I'd still put my money on KU.

But I will concede that, for the first time, I feel that the field has the advantage over KU.

ku won't lose at home. They still have ksu there.

isu might have easiest schedule...besides at ksu nothing to tough on the road, tcu would be 2nd.

Lagerald Vick taking a "leave of absence" from the team. It's imploding on ole Toupee billy.

I don't think he was expected back this season & all of the sudden he was back. Seems like he's got a lot of stuff going on.

Vick had a lot of “stuff” going on last year and in years past as well. The problems he had were well documented as part of a series of scandals involving KU basketball players. That may be why he was not expected back.

I’m all for second chances for young men like Vick. Self seems to believe in second and thirds, or more if they can help his teams. The NCAA can see what we have seen. Is that why they didn’t cut him any slack with De Sousa? Pure conjecture on my part, but I do think it’s possible. Also sad if the kid did absolutely nothing wrong.

The ESPN article seemed to iterate that his mother wanted him home....and that's why he is taking the leave. I don't know what that means or how to read into that.

Yeah, nothing I said had much if anything to do with Vick’s leave of absence. BCSooners didn’t expect to see him back this season. I was equally surprised, but it may or may not have been for the same reasons.

Vick had every right to take a leave of absence to assist or just be with his mother. I respect him for that.

Vick's situation is bizarre to say the least. He announced after the season that he was going to turn pro, then didn't get the feedback that he wanted and decided to consider returning to school. But even then, Self initially didn't want him back. I don't think there have ever been eligibility issues with him, he just wasn't a good teammate or a consistent player and KU didn't think he was worth the headaches. I have a good friend who knows a lot about the program and even he was surprised Self ultimately let him come back. I think Vick and his mom pleaded with Self and convinced him that this year would be different. After a great start, though, it appears that it has been more of the same. Even before this family issue, he had been in and out of the doghouse. Will be interesting to see if he ever plays another minute for them.

ISU on the verge of eliminating themselves today with their second home loss in the conference.

They still have a decent shot. KU should win out (OSU, OU, and Baylor). TT will probably lose one of their last four. Just means KU needs KSU to lose to Baylor, TCU, or OU.

unfrickbelievable...

ah well...as Billy use to say, it's our job to score..their job to stop us..(I think he said that~)

Watch we will beat ksu to secure our bid and give Kansas the league title

A win in Manhattan would be nice.

The last time OU won at K-State was January 28, 2012, when Bruce Weber was still at Illinois and about to get fired. Coach Weber will be going for his 7th straight home win against Coach Kruger in Manhattan.

@ Illinois

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Weber_(basketball)#2005–2012

After a 10–0 start to the 2011–12 season, Weber's Illini went 7–15, finishing the season with a 17–15 record.

On March 9, 2012, one day after the Illini lost its Big Ten Tournament opening-round game to Iowa, Weber was relieved of his duties. During his nine-year tenure as Illinois coach, Weber amassed a Big Ten record of 89–64, and an overall record of 210–101. His overall win percentage with Illinois (67.5%) stands as second only to Bill Self in the modern era.

We can beat KU in Norman. They have been a complete disaster on the road: 2-7, and one of the wins was that miracle comeback against TCU. Let's hope that we do and end this nonsense, while securing our bid to the tournament.

I agree. I do think that the fact that they played themselves back into the race for the title will motivate them, however. It will help if they come in flat. Maybe it will help to catch them on back-to-back road games in Oklahoma.

Agreed. I have thought all along we have a much better chance of beating KU in Norman than ISU or K-State on the road. Nothing I would like better than to break the Jayhawk’s heart by ending their conference title run!
