Just wanted to see if everyone here is okay? I actually got a picture of a tornado on my phone right over the top of my house in moore. Unbelievable. Hope everyone is alright

w0lfe - Where in Moore are you? I was supposed to be at a work event in Moore tonight and bailed when all this started going down.

All's well in my part of Tulsa, too.

A woman I used to work with lives in Choctaw now. I just went to her Facebook page. Everything must be fine at her house. She's on FB, complaining about the weather! :D

Most of Choctaw didn't get hit. But Harrah was destroyed. And a Loves station around there was completely destroyed.

I was studying at bizzel during all this. they made everyone go into the bottom two floors, but me and a lot of other students just went outside to watch.

I'm ok, but had family in the path of the tornadoes all day long it feels like. All are fine, but my cousin lost his house(Tecumseh). With the fatalities there, he realizes it could have been so much worse. Where I'm at, I had about 4 minutes of small hail and about 15 minutes of driving rain, then just wind.

I was of NW Expressway in OKC at work. Got off at 5:30 and drove to my 2nd floor apartment on the south side. Unfortunately I've rented out my house and living temporarily in a nice but vulnerable apartment. Tornado season just got a bit scarier for me. Thank god I only have to live here for another 10 months before my house I'm building will be completed. Still though, days like today can become nightmares real quick. I'm thankful I was able to dodge disaster and that my family also avoided any problem area's. My heart goes out to those who were less fortunate tonight.

I actually live off 19th street and eastern in Moore. I was at my parents house when it started getting bad, which is just about half a mile west of my house because they have a storm cellar. Anyways, after we were able to check on everyone, I went over to my actual house and all the neighbors said that there was a small tornado that hit my neighborhood. There are a couple homes that are missing parts of their roofs, such as my next door neighbor. Not a single fence is standing in the neighborhood and also our big community park is flattened. The swings are twisted like pretzels and our big picnic building was found 1/2 a mile away in some guys pond. By the grace of God my house escaped the bad stuff. I have some roof damage, gutter damage, garage door damage, and lost all my fence. But thats a blessing in disguise when you look at the other houses around there.

I was out chasing last night. Got a decent shot of one by Yukon and was just a few minutes behind the one that hit the Loves at Choctaw road. Debris was still falling when we got there. I'll post some photos in a bit.

I live in the Norman No Tornado zone so im ok. Everything south of Robinson and North of HWY 9 is protected by an ancient Native spell.

It is strange that Norman always seems to avoid these things. I live near Draper lake. Went to the storm shelter, but kept the door open to watch the clouds. Very scary to say the least. I'm thankful we have a shelter and feel horrible for those that suffered loss of life.

Having lived in the Dallas area since graduating from OU, my wife and I have become a little removed from the very REAL threat that comes to Oklahoma each Spring. I know the weather this time of year is volatile at the very least.

I just pray that all that frequent this site are okay and have personal property that is relatively unscathed. My thoughts and prayers are truly with all of you this tornado season. Gary England should be kept closer than even your enemies for the foreseeable future! (Mods, can we get a Gary England head? LOL!)

Here's one we caught south of Yukon.

Okay here, just north of Thunderbird.

That was a big tornado that went down the length of Lake Thunderbird and then out through Little Axe... a friend of mine was over at the Country Boy there in Little Axe and drove out of the path just before it got hit.

dsmok1 is that a radar presentation of the may 3rd tornado on your avatar?

When I moved to Dallas in '99, there was a tornado that hit downtown Ft. Worth that spring....was shocked how far behind the DFW metro was when it came to covering severe weather. They didn't even know there was a tornado until they went to a city camera. I know that a tornado can be missed via the radar because it is wrapped in rain, but that is why you have spotters. DFW stations don't have them. And the radars were at least one generation behind OKC's.

It seems weird that Texas doesn't seem to get the tornadoes Oklahoma gets every couple years. Now Oklahoma doesn't get tornadoes like this one every year. The one yesterday was more like once a decade.
