with the thunder does no one care about ou basketball? seems as if the site is pretty dead....even for the offseason

I love Sooner bb. I come over here to get recruiting info, since there aren't really any outlets for Sooner bb recruiting. I don't post much because many of the posters on here would eat their young if given the opportunity.

I check it everyday but rarely post. Hoping Kruger gives us much more to talk about in the near future.

I come here everyday but rarely post . Love this site. Slow time of the year.

Unfortunately, we still have several slow months left. Things will pick up in September and even more in October when practice starts.

I know Sam will be hitting some open practices and posting some updates, as will I and other posters who did so last year.

Guys, if you want to get a look at dead basketball boards, trip over to OUInsider or to OUScout. The last post (not thread, POST) on OUI's basketball board was three days ago. It's even worse on the Scout board. There has not been a single post over there since June 28. I'm not joking!

As OUHoops said, this is a slow time for basketball news. It's always that way in the summer months. I'm thinking that by August or September, we should begin to learn more about the recruits OU has a good chance of signing in the November period.

In the meantime, we'll keep twiddling our thumbs while we wait for the season to start. Hang in there, things will pick up before long.

Its true that OU being bad makes it even slower this time of the year. But this board is far from dead.

nah, this is just that part of the year when little is happening other than MLB.

I must admit though MLB is interesting this year. kinda like what's been going on.

You're not the only one who feels this way...I'm just not confrontational enough to post anymore and get tired of the constant pissing matches...

Also, I, unlike others, miss having people like Cheno and Grace around because they helped liven up the boards during the downtime with overall conference talk...

We are not rumored to be in on 20 of the top 100. We are not split on whether our coach can coach. No one is over hyping our teams talent or stating they can't win 5 B12 games. I try to look in here every couple of days but things will heat up in Sept.

One man's pissing match is another man's robust debate. It's kind of what these boards are designed for.

Intimidation and censorship.

With all due respect, that seems unlikely. Fans from other boards are allowed great leeway here, as were G & C.

That said, this board's plenty active. We're seeing several posts a day, minimum, even though it's July and there's not really much to discuss.

I never understand "Is this place dying?" threads. You see them in various online settings. They're needlessly alarmist and cast a kind of unjustified pall over the discussion that is taking place.

If a board's not active enough for you, post. Start threads. Respond to other posts. Do your part to enliven the place. Doomsday predictions, even in the form of a question, accomplish little.

Traffic and page views for the site were up last season, but posting was down significantly.

Maybe people were just too beaten down and lost hope by the losing to care to post, or they just don't like the posters as topdaug and billyball said above. I can see that. At this point it is what it is I guess, I don't really have the time/energy to deal with it anymore.

I admit that I probably took some stances on moderating the board over the years too seriously, tried hard to please everybody, but have backed off significantly over the past few years. You live and learn.

I am probably going to take the home page down for good here soon. Gave it a shot and it didn't work out like I planned. And now, with two more kids than I had when the site started, I don't have the time to keep up with it in my spare time like I used to.

But I'll still scour the net for OU info/links/stuff to post, and the board will always be here as long as people are posting.

Last year I'm sure posting was a little more up because of curiousity about the new style with Lon coming in and some of the newer players that we had coming in. This year our lineup is pretty much set with guys we already had on campus. We have some young guards coming in and a new PF/SF that was already practicing last year. But everyone else we've seen for a couple years for the most part. We have our PG spot solidified. We have Pledger back. We have a solid group of post players that everyone has seen for a while. We know we'll be a little more solid than last year but does that mean we are NCAA Tournament bound or just a solid NIT team? We still aren't at the level we were under Kelvin or Billy where we were an NCAA Tournament team every year and were disappointed by a year where we were a double digit seed.

twitter has killed message boards. we are here for the death rattle. i love you all
