They've gotten their clock cleaned a lot, but they've played some top 3, top 10, and top 20 teams very close this year. They have good success in the Big 12 Tournament lately.

Hopefully OU isn't overlooking them, because a loss here would be a total disaster for the team. They'd still make the tournament but nobody wants to go in to the dance on a 5 game losing streak, capped off with a loss to a 2-21 basketball team.

ISU has played most teams very close when they have been fully healthy. Their leading scorer, Rasir Bolton, has missed the last two games with an injury and I’ve not been able to find any reports on whether he will play tomorrow. A loss tomorrow would suck, but wouldn’t have any real influence on next week other than costing us a seed line or two.

The report from a few hours ago is that Bolton "should" be able to play against OU. That's it.

And, the season isn't all about a tournament we have no chance of winning... It's would be a way bigger deal than you are letting on.

Can't imagine too many things more appealing to a team whose season is coming off the rails than a date with a squad that's lost 21 of 23.

Iowa State was our last Big 12 Tourney victory inside the haunted halls of the Sprint Center (2016). Here's to making it two in a row and keeping the Cyclones perfect season intact!

Already making excuses. If we lose, it’s no big deal. That kind of apathy is why the program never takes the next step to competing for championships. Instead, it’s just about making the tourney. So, I guess the season is over because even if we lose, it’s no big deal. We made the tourney. Time to celebrate!

I say this with all respect, but is English your second language, because you clearly don’t know what the word excuse means. An excuse would be blaming the refs for a loss, or saying that we overlooked an opponent, or that a team got lucky against us, or we weren’t full strength. Instead, I said a loss would suck ... in what world can that be interpreted as me saying a loss would be no big deal? Also, I didn’t realize my attitude affects wins and losses either way. If so, I’d think we would be in pretty good shape as a program since i routinely drive 5 hours round trip to watch the team, lose sleep after every loss, and can probably be labeled as unhealthily invested in the outcome of every game. But yeah, guys like you who preemptively complain about everything and everyone associated with the program ... that’s the attitude we need to take the next step!

I think we beat ISU. Although, nothing would surprise me with this team. They could lose to Iowa state or they could make a run and win the Big12 tourney. Lon doesn’t have a great track record in the conference tourney.

Who do you sit next to on the OU bench, WichitaSooner? I need to watch out for you and make sure your apathy doesn't ruin our chances to compete for a title. :ez-laugh:

I will just leave it as “it would suck”.

Just saw that McCormack for KU is out of the Big 12 Tourney because of Covid protocol. If we get past ISU, then we would catch KU without their best interior player. Not sure if that would have much of an impact, but it certainly wouldn't hurt OU.

Edit: Just saw there was a thread about....my bad. Haven't been on the board in a couple of days.

Good post, ABD. Hope he plays and we take care of business. Totally agree that we need to focus on the big 12 tourney. We could do some damage if we play like we are capable of. Even sunshine pumpers need to acknowledge that Lon has underperformed in this tourney. We need to beat Iowa state and then beat ku b1tchass.

Beating ISU by 20 would be nice, but winning by 1 would be enough for me. It's that time of year: just win!
