If it were billion(s), I'd go after Coach K!

You are correct. For some reason I was thinking billions...man, I must need a nap or something.
i figured you were just getting old
That is why I think Joe C will be more willing to pay up for a big time coach.
I agree with your premise, but I don't agree with spending $2 mill + to a guy with 4 years coaching experience. Buzz is an up-and-comer, but not yet a "big time coach". If OU is attempting to go all out on this hire, why not someone with a better resume?
Everybody knows I was not a fan of getting rid of Capel.
Why not?
- Under .500 in conference play since Capel arrived
- 3 out of 5 years with no post-season at all
- 13 out of 24 players signed by Capel left
- Under Capel, OU loses by double digits every 3.6 games
- Losing record without Blake Griffin
- Fourth time in his tenure here that Jeff Capel has had a losing streak of five or more games. Before he arrived, our last five-game losing streak was in 1991
- From 1982 until Capel's arrival in the fall of 2006, OU finished in the top half of the conference standings 21 times in 25 seasons. Jeff Capel has finished in the bottom half of the Big 12 twice in his four full seasons. This team will be his third time to place in the bottom half of the pack.
- Last season was the first Oklahoma team to be outscored over the balance of a year since the 1981 team mentioned above. The 2011 team will be the second in a row to meet that grisly fate.

I don't know, Jamie Dixon, Ben Howland, Rick Barnes, Rick Pitino, Jay Wright, Bo Ryan, John Beilein, Bruce Weber, Roy Williams, etc., etc. All these guys are could be had for what we may pay for Buzz' buzz.

Here we are on the Tuesday after Marquette was eliminated. The exact time that most speculated it would go down if we got Buzz.
Quiet as a mouse on our end. Not a single new leak. Some speculation that Buzz is staying at Marquette but no official announcement. You can bet that we are making our pitch and Marquette is making theirs.
Meanwhile Missouri, whose coach abandoned ship after they publicly begged him to stay and offered him anything he wanted, is again ejaculating all over themselves in the press about who they are going to hire.
It is funny to watch and is there any question why OU is bigtime and Missouri is small potatoes?
Buzz to OU might just happen in the next 24 hours.
