Jamuni will be playing at OBU in Shawnee tonight for the Faith 7 game. Best in Oklahoma play some of the best in Texas. Several future D-1 players from both.

7pm tonight.

Texas only brought 9, so he should play a ton.

He's looked good in practice today. Smooth FT jump shoot as well. Burger King guy! dunk it anyway you want it!

Thanks for the update. Hope to see some video highlights of him/the game.

I wish the Faith Seven promoters would do a better job of promoting this game. It sneaks up on my every year. I had no idea the game was tonight until I read this thread.

Coach, if you or someone out there makes it to the game, be sure to give us a report if you can. I'm especially interested in Jamuni's performance. My gut tells me he's going to be a lot better than most people think, and I don't mean as a junior or senior. I don't expect him to start or be a legit threat to unseat a more experienced post player. Still, I won't be at all surprised if he contribute his first year.

By the way, I reserve the right to withdraw that prediction if Thomas gets a waiver. There may not be enough minutes to go around for all of our post players if he's able to play.

@ScottWrightOK: Jamuni had 9 pts, 15 boards. Very impressive athlete. 6-9 and really long. Also blocked four shots. Skinny but gifted athlete

He can add some weight but he's a good prospect!

15 boards is impressive. I assume everyone in that game is playing college ball and most are playing D-1. Is that a correct assumption?

Not sure about all the roster, but from Oklahoma had Omega Harris (PC West - UTEP) and 6'9 Mitchell Soloman (Bixby - OSU), 6'10 Jacob Hammond (Comanche - Nebraska).

So 2 D-1 posts on Oklahoma he was going against.

Most of the rosters are going to play college. I think 10-11 are D1 several D2 and some were undecided. Several NAIA. Several juco,

OU, TT, Miami, Indiana, osu, Norte dame, UTEP, Santa Clara, navy, Nebraska...

Here's a recap on the Faith 7 game I found that confirms Jamuni's 9 points, 15 boards and 4 blocks. The most impressive thing to me is that he controlled the boards in the overtime period with 7 of his game high 15.

University of Oklahoma signee Jamuni McNeace of Allen High School helped Texas control the boards with seven rebounds in the overtime, finishing with a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 9 points and 4 blocks. McNease put a cap on the Texas win by corralling a long rebound and throwing down a two-handed dunk that put Texas up five with 38 seconds left in the game.

By comparison, Okie State's, Mitchell Soloman, had 7 points and 12 rebounds, before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

McNeace also competed in the slam dunk contest, as a contestant and as a prop for his teammate who won it. Jamuni is #41.

Soloman's 7 points came of 3 of 11 FG while McNeace was 4 of 6. Each had one point from the line, just FYI :D

Wouldn't it be great if Ja Money was a late blooming underrated big man who developed into a Marcus Camby type stud. We could sure use a little luck like that.

Thanks. Those stats are even more telling.

Like I said earlier, my gut tells me Jamuni is going to be a lot better than most people think. It's easy to forget that he's a relative newcomer to organized, competitive basketball. He has come a long ways in the last three years.

This makes TaShawn's Thomas eligibility even more critical. Jumani is obviously a raw talent, who needs to be brought along carefully. If TaShawn is eligible, Lon has that chance...

For both teams, they don't always get the guys they first wanted.

Oklahoma had two kids who couldn't play because the schools they were going to didn't want them to play or they were already in another state at that school.

You're right, the Faith Seven game is never a match up of the best players in Texas against the best in Oklahoma. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. Still, the completion is good enough to get a good idea about how a kid will perform at the next level.

Yeah the year I played Rashard Lewis from the Heat was going to play and at the last minute backed out for Texas.
