Post on sooner fans:

Capel is not going anywhere. If you honestly believe he is then you haven't been paying attention to how Joe Castiglione works over the past 14 years... no way, no how is he giving "his guy" the boot at this point in the game, so to speak.

Wish what you want and read what you want to on Rivals or anywhere else... at the end of the day and at the end of this season, Jeff Capel will still be the coach at OU. At least for one more season.

Guaranteed.

Is this guy anyone important? Never heard of him.

Nothing but one man's opinion backed with zero factual support. I mean at least tell me you have a source instead of just saying "that's not how Joe works".

Agreed, just thought I'd share since he has some connections

Thanks for the info. Like others have said, it reads as an opinion piece.

This is believable to me. Many were calling for Sunny's head and Joe C stood by him. The next year the team made it to regionals. The year after that they went to the College World Series. This year the team is underrated so far. Joe has courage of his convictions. Still I am not going to be shocked no matter what happens.

underrated supposed to be "undefeated"?

Chewwy's been a reputable poster from what I can tell. No offense to Upchurch, but Chewwy gets my support until proven wrong.

I'm sure anything could happen...I just want SOME resolution.

I was discussing the chance of this with a friend of mine tonight. This might be the best year to change coaches if you think about it (outside of performance or personal opinion of Capel as a coach).

If you make a decent hire that can keep Cam here. Neal is not going anywhere. Osby/Blair can't really xfer. We have a decent nucleus and I believe the team, no matter the coach, will be substantially better next year. If a new guy comes in and has success and is a good recruiter, he will have a decent amount to sell when trying to land top recruits.

Of course, if a big NCAA hammer drops...all bets are off...either way, I will continue to support OU Basketball (no matter the coach).

Mods please change the title of this thread to James Upchurch

Based on what?Carey andJC worked together for years at Sooners Illustrated. They now have differing stances based on their knowledgeof and perception of the inner workings at OU. I know JC slightly from a personal standpoint BUT i won't try to tell you he is better than Murdock. They are both sincere ,passionate guys who care deeply for OU but have obvious differing opinions.I think everyone needs to chill and let Joe C. and the powers that be do their jobs,we will KNOW soon enough.

jay upchurch looks just like richard gere

Guaranteed.

Tommy: Let's think about this for a sec, Ted. Why would somebody put a guarantee on a box? Hmmm, very interesting.

Ted Nelson, Customer: Go on, I'm listening.

Tommy: Here's the way I see it, Ted. Guy puts a fancy guarantee on a box 'cause he wants you to feel all warm and toasty inside.

Ted Nelson, Customer: Yeah, makes a man feel good.

Tommy: 'Course it does. Why shouldn't it? Ya figure you put that little box under your pillow at night, the Guarantee Fairy might come by and leave a quarter, am I right, Ted?

[chuckles until he sees that Ted is not laughing]

Ted Nelson, Customer: [impatiently] What's your point?

Tommy: The point is, how do you know the fairy isn't a crazy glue sniffer?

"Building model airplanes" says the little fairy; well, we're not buying it. He sneaks into your house once, that's all it takes. The next thing you know, there's money missing off the dresser, and your daughter's knocked up. I seen it a hundred times.

Ted Nelson, Customer: But why do they put a guarantee on the box?

Tommy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of ****. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your customer's sake, for your daughter's sake, ya might wanna think about buying a quality product from me.

Ted Nelson, Customer: [pause] Okay, I'll buy from you.

Tommy: Well, that's...

Tommy, Richard Hayden: ...What?
