wishful thinking on my part Beilein takes the job bring in Eduardo Najera to groom for taking over 4-5 years from now...but not sure if that's realistic.

He’s 68 right now, but this wouldn’t be the worst hire in the world if Beilein was truly committed to coaching at OU for the next 5-7 years. What we don’t want is to be back in the coaching market in 2-3 years because Beilein got tired. That said, there are a couple of coaches in their mid 70s who are still getting the job done. I honestly thought Lon was going to go another 5-6 years before calling it quits.

That big beautiful home he was building in LV when he accepted the OU job combined with Kevin getting the LV HC job caused him to retire earlier is my guess.

He also mentioned Lew Hill's passing weighed more and more on him as the season went along as another reason along with Kevin getting the UNLV job
