Jones and nwankwo

Disappointed in hearing the situation with Jones but Nwankwo definitely should not be coming back this year.

Hopefully we can get one or both of them back next year.

Jones said he plans to come back next year even though he is already in grad school. Obviously how this year shakes out will play a huge part in his decision -- hard to imagine many guys would be back if a new staff is in place.

There goes our natty.

Kidding aside, I understand why they wouldn't want to waste a season of eligibility. JN in particular -- hasn't played in 6 months, suffered an injury that is very tricky to come back from, takes a while to regain confidence and trust even after it is physically healed. Why burn up a season for 10-15 games playing for a coach who hopefully won't be here next season? I'd guess they and the high school recruits will never play for OU.
jones more so to me then JN jones has 1 year
I’m assuming Jones could be closer, but doesn’t want to rush it back, and I can’t blame him since the injury is what it is.
and he also only has 1 year left of college basketball .. if he plays at all this year he is done

He still has leg weakness and isn't close to full speed. I'm sure he can do a lot of normal, everyday stuff, but that in no way means he is close to being able to play major college basketball.
Kinda like Chet for Okc. Been practicing for couple weeks but not ready to return.

Ok, am I being negative if I think that Moser will have no say in the decision of whether or not these guys play this year? Don't the players hold all the cards just like the wide receivers with football did and they are going to do what's best for themselves and not what's best for the team.

Am I crazy?
I don’t think you’re crazy. But the bottom line is nobody can force anybody to play against their will. It’s a matter of what you can do to them if they refuse.

It's ridiculous how Moser is handling this and making it seem like these guys are fully healthy and just choosing not to play. Jones himself has said he is not yet healthy enough to play. JN is not yet close to the timeframe when a torn Achilles would usually be healed.

it is 100% the players decision .... for Jones it would be the end of his college career ...

Nwankwo is in a weird spot he pretty much already used his RS year .. as of now the juco ruling doesn't apply to him (he has the 5 year clock rule issue 6 with covid) ..

his eligibility is up after next season and I am not sure that changes at all if he plays now or not .. (and i don't any one knows with out a law suit being filed)

if jones had multi years left of college he would have already played in a game this season .. he HAS BEEN HEALTHY enough for that ..

Source? Because the person himself says otherwise, and I will not consider him a liar till I have a good reason.

lol of course this is what you take out of it.

Here is the rest of his quote

""There definitely will be that point, and it's probably sooner than later, that point, because you just don't want to waste their year (when) you're at January 23rd," Moser said. "So it's just, can we use 'em? Heck yeah, we could use 'em... But do you waste a whole year January 23rd? It's tough. It's a tough decision."

But you consider PM a liar for no good reason lol

Bottom line is that these players are now paid to play and they aren't playing. It has to be frustrating for a coach that needs them.
It is a fine line to toe

Yes, I trust Jones, or any human being, to have a better idea of how their body feels than I do for someone else to make that judgment. Unless CW is able to step into Jones's body and feel what it feels like when he tries to run and jump and cut and twist, I think Jones is a better source. And on JN, even though I have not heard him interviewed, I will trust decades of established rehab timelines.

CW is paid to win, and he isn't doing that. That is frustrating.

How does that affect there NIL though? If the collective stop transactions if they choose not to play?

It looks like this may be the rest (end) of PM's quote on the topic:
"Sooner or later, we'll have to make the decision," Moser reiterated. "The good thing is I don't have to announce it or do anything; you'll know…. I will say this, because I'm following the SEC: If I do plan to play them, I will put them as probable in the (SEC) injury report. I definitely won't just all of a sudden play them…. If you see them on that injury report as probable, that means they'll play."

Ding ding ding. That is why they are sayign they aren't healthy IMO. They don't want the money to stop.
I don't think any of us really know the full story. I would guess that they are at the point where they could play and PM wants them to play but I can't blame them for not wanting to "waste" a year by starting this late into the season. But if that is really the case, then take the money back
