moser presser / and Moore from our friends at SoonerScoop
jones could play i don't know if that is true for JNDing ding ding. That is why they are sayign they aren't healthy IMO. They don't want the money to stop.
I don't think any of us really know the full story. I would guess that they are at the point where they could play and PM wants them to play but I can't blame them for not wanting to "waste" a year by starting this late into the season. But if that is really the case, then take the money back
Again, you are just saying that. Have you talked to him? Been to practice? Spoken to his doctor?jones could play i don't know if that is true for JN
Why would PM come out and say he is healthy if he isn't?Again, you are just saying that. Have you talked to him? Been to practice? Spoken to his doctor?
Did you trust Javan McCollum last year when he sat out the big 12 tournament game when he said he was injured and could not play? Many people blamed mosier for that. You may not have been, but many blamed him that he sat javian and we lost that game.Yes, I trust Jones, or any human being, to have a better idea of how their body feels than I do for someone else to make that judgment. Unless CW is able to step into Jones's body and feel what it feels like when he tries to run and jump and cut and twist, I think Jones is a better source. And on JN, even though I have not heard him interviewed, I will trust decades of established rehab timelines.
Because by talking about their injuries, he has a built-in excuse for poor performance. And as this thread shows, he also gets a lot of fans to think that these two guys are not committed, which shifts the blame. Why would PM come out and say he is healthy if he isn't?
Even if PM is as dumb as you think he is, he isn't that dumb
There definitely were rumors that Moser rested him and Soares because he thought we were a lock. But I think they are different situations. Those guys had less serious injuries, and it seemed a given that they would have been available a week later had we made the tourney. Here, we are talking about much longer term injuries, and guys who haven't yet played this season and thus have the option of saving a year of eligibility.Did you trust Javan McCollum last year when he sat out the big 12 tournament game when he said he was injured and could not play? Yeah, it’s like comparing apples to oranges. I actually didn’t blame Moser for sitting those two guys last year. I didn’t think one conference tournament win was going to make a huge difference OU’s seeding. Rather save them for the NCAA tournament., Like you said, now we are talking about guys who may waste an entire year of playing for a dozen games or so. It’s not JN and JJ are going to play pro basketball. Their final year of college basketball is probably all they got. There definitely were rumors that Moser rested him and Soares because he thought we were a lock. oh c'mon. You really don't believe this do you?Because by talking about their injuries, he has a built-in excuse for poor performance. And as this thread shows, he also gets a lot of fans to think that these two guys are not committed, which shifts the blame.
We are talking about a guy who has blamed the committee for not putting us in the tourney in two of his three years, and who speaks about the need for more fan support, a better arena, etc. Yes, I absolutely believe that he is willing to use excuses. I have no problem with him addressing Jones and JN when asked, but as far back as a couple months ago, he was implying they were very close to being ready for game action. That is not fair to them. It's easy enough to just say that they are continuing to rehab and getting better, but there is not yet a timeline for when they will be back.oh c'mon. You really don't believe this do you?
And what about soares?? pm did rest them bc he's an idiotDid you trust Javan McCollum last year when he sat out the big 12 tournament game when he said he was injured and could not play? You're nailing this. This is exactly a lame attempt by pm to sandbag why he should keep his job in the event he can't find something else he likes better this offseason.. how would he not know if they are going to play this year or not? Does he not talk to them or the medical staff? Total jokeWe are talking about a guy who has blamed the committee for not putting us in the tourney in two of his three years, and who speaks about the need for more fan support, a better arena, etc. Yes, I absolutely believe that he is willing to use excuses. Because he used it as an excuse for the losses….Why would PM come out and say he is healthy if he isn't?

He keeps saying they're close, healthy, and stuff. And def doesn't rule them out. This is why he's doing that..Yall are so out of touch.
If PM is lying about players availability it would be obvious. It would be a death knell.
Yall are ridiculous lol
I mean it’s obvious is it not?He keeps saying they're close, healthy, and stuff. And def doesn't rule them out. This is why he's doing that..
Chet for Thunder has been 85-90 percent at practice. I have heard medically been cleared, but it just is how it feels for him. This could be similar to the players, medically clear but waiting to be sure. I don’t blame players if they want to sit out cause limited games left. You have to take some of that into consideration for the coach, it’s not just an excuse, it’s truth. Those 2 players could be helping and were anticipated to help. I think there’s plenty else to put on mosier shoulders. He keeps saying they're close, healthy, and stuff. And def doesn't rule them out. This is why he's doing that..
Reasonable take. I think it’s quite likely that the two guys are cleared from a medical perspective( their injuries have healed) but there’s so much more that goes into it. Are they in game shape? Can they just jump right into an SEC game and perform well? Can Moser put them into the rotation without causing issues? Is it worth using their last year of college basketball for 12 or 13 games? I don’t think Moser is lying or trying to drum up sympathy. I don’t think the players are selfishly sitting out. I think it’s a complex and nuanced situation and it’s hard for fans to see that from the outside looking in. Had they been medically cleared in December I have no doubt they would have played. But it’s tough when it’s the third week in January.Chet for Thunder has been 85-90 percent at practice. I have heard medically been cleared, but it just is how it feels for him.
