Woodard and Odomes are my personal game MVPs. Jordan had 27 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. His 14 of 14 free throw shooting was key to putting Tech away when they tried to mount a comeback in the second half.

Rashard's acrobatic drives to the rim kept Tech defenders on their heels the entire game. He had a career high 24 points on 9 of 14 shooting. He also added 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Hard to believe how far he has come since last season!

They both played great. I hope this is the beginning of them taking this team on their shoulders.

If there is a Hield on this team, I think it is Odomes. I just didn't expect to see it tonight. He can be good if he works like Hield..

I think Rashard may be better than Buddy at driving and finishing inside. He's not even close in shooting from the perimeter. It's not that he can't make shots from deep. He's just so good at taking the ball to the hole he would rather drive than shoot from out there.

As for his work ethic, I'm told he worked hard in the off season, and it shows. He's a totally different player than the one we saw last year. Work as hard as Buddy? I doubt if there is a player anywhere who can say that.

Does anyone see Rashard as a candidate to play the 1 before he's done? He reminds me a little of Cousins when Cousins first arrived.

Anyone who thought Woodard wouldn't have made a big difference in the games he missed was surely swayed by today's game. Jordan was key to today's win.

They were both sensational. Lattin was outstanding as well. When he gets to be a better shooter, he'll be tremendous.

He's been getting to the hoop really all season. But he and the others managed to get fouled last night. Up to this point, when they've been contested, they've missed the layups but not gotten to the line. Last night, they got to the line. We definitely won last night because of their ability to penetrate and get to the line.

The difference between Woodard and the other 2 point guards is night and day. His absence was so indescribably large.

I'd say no way. I think Cousins was seen as a PG/Combo guard when he came in, and even though he went away from it once Woodard got here, he had it in him the whole time.
Odomes is a pure wing IMO. At the very least it would take A LOT of work to get him to be comfortable at the 1. But hey, if Trae goes elsewhere we may be desperate

Odomes would be a really good player if he could make 35% of his 3's. He is getting better and better, nice to see.

Rashard can shoot from three. He's just good at scoring off of the dribble drive, so that is what the coaches have told him to do.

I finally found an article I came across sometime ago that proves he was outstanding from behind the arc his senior year in high school:

Odomes has the numbers to prove that he could step in right away – 25.2 points and 12.4 rebounds per game as a senior while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field and better than 50 percent from behind-the-arc.

The stats on MaxPreps show he had a 49% average from three his freshman and sophomore seasons, so his 50% average as a senior was no fluke.

In another article I found, Scout's Justin Hite predicted Rashard would average 40% from three his freshman season at OU. We know now he struggled mightily last year. But, the improvements he has demonstrated from last year to the current season should leave no doubt that he will be a scorer deluxe before he's through. Make no mistake, he can also make shots from three point range if that's what LK wants him to do.

When I went to a couple of summer practices in the summer of 2015, Odomes was the newcomer that impressed me the most. I was surprised he didn't get more playing time last season. I agree with Ada that he could hit the 3 ..... and probably should try if opponents back off of him because they don't want him to beat them off the dribble.

As for him playing PG, he doesn't have those kind of skills. He's a big-body who is only slightly smaller than Buford and Doolittle. I think he could play the 4 if we go small. In spite of his size, he's probably our best defender.

Woodard is Odomes' best friend on the court. We need more of what we saw last night: both scoring and creating opportunities for others; and we need Woodard at crunch time. Who else would have been able to manage and win the game in the fourth quarter? (Nobody)

Come hell or high water, it's time to run everything through Woodard and Odomes. Everyone else is complimentary role player.

Was out of town on another campus and didn't get to catch the game; sounds like a missed two great performances! I'll have to watch the highlights

With so many inexperienced players, I would expect that this week it's Odoms and next week someone else then the following week yet another. That's fine as long as someone shows up and lifts the team.

I think JW will have a consistent presence, but there definitely needs to be two more scorers on any given night. Would be nice if Khadeem and Mcneace could start averaging a combined 15-20 points a night.

Of course that would be nice but how many college teams get 15-20 pts per game from the center position? It's probably less than 10% of schools.

This is what I've been talking about in many posts about expectations being too high. College teams score 75-80 points per game, at most. How many positions should we get 20 points per game from? We don't need 15-20 points per game from 2 guys who are defense-first players. We need them to defend, rebound, block shots, and score 10-12 ppg.

Well collectively they average 12/10/3 blocks, but we are 7-9 so something needs to change to win games. I've been fine with the play of Mcneace off the bench pretty frequently; it was Lattin who I thought should be producing more. It hasn't helped that our starter at the 4 has usually struggled (Doolittle has had some good games starting at the 4, but not Freeman or Buford).
