Kansas is at it again...

I can't look at teams and see that every team that wins a championship has at least one 5 star on their roster and I cant respond with...well, we can win one without one.

Villanova had exactly 1 5-star player on their roster per ESPN, and he was a freshman backup who averaged 8 ppg in the tournament. Nova didn't win the championship because of Jalen Brunson.

I never said they did. I just said they had a 5 star recruit. They also had a senior PG which also seems to be a trend except for when Kentucky won.

Kansas often underperforms their seed, which I enjoy immensely, but a 30-12 tournament record over 13 seasons (1 NC, 2 FFs, 6 EEs, 8 S16s) isn't exactly an "extreme lack of success."

I think Kansas might typically be overseeded a little bit just because they're invincible at home, thanks to a combination of Big 12 ref capitulation and a tremendous home court atmosphere. They're probably not quite as good as their record most of the time.

But Bill Self also tightens up in the tournament, and his team plays like it, worst of all in Elite 8 games.

All I know is that Kansas pays extremely well and the NCAA is OK with it.

I know Bill Self uses burner phones in his personal life, so I assume he does in recruiting as well.
